Looking at 69 charger's.

I believe they sold rust / bondo buckets to unsuspecting customers at those huge prices and got caught. Google HPLG and read all the comments.

I got ya- looks like they changed names to “True Muscle Cars”. You could beat the subject of buyer be ware and inspections and on and on.— but I don’t know how someone could spend big money and not go see the car for themselves without some education and research into what to look for. Oh well.

To expand on my comment, one detail that may help if you want to put eyes on these cars is they are advertised online as being in San Luis Obispo, Ca while they are actually in Lake Villa Il.

Well that’s we’re your from HMMMMM. So what am I missing your the seller????? Well that explains the nice car and garage.

No I am not the seller. I often drive by that lot as it is a few miles away from me.

Does it make sense I would be stating the things I've said if they were my cars? Lmao

Is that the outfit in Chicago?

Who nows anymore, you hope for honesty but most are looking out for number 1 themselves. Thanks Jesse

Have been looking for a 69 charger too restore. Man can't believe the price for what is nothing much of a car. No motor or trans. Car is in rough shape also for even 15 grand. One I see is black and found it on Craigslist. That car is in so many states and same car listed for 15 thou. Others are even in 20 thou. range and not in any better shape. NO motor's or trans mission. Interiors are trash. Just restored a 69 runner and bought it for 7 thou. Would say it was in not so good of shape but it had a motor and all under hood and drive train. So am I just looking in the wrong place. Would like to find a good one to work on.
I’ve been watching these cars for the past 3 years….prices are insane….I’ll agree….junk going between $20,000…$30,000…..and I mean junk….then the next stage is the car is complete not too bad of shape…$40,000…$50,000…. and the prices just skyrocket from there…resto mods are ridiculous….just keep looking….you may get lucky….

IMO, it's systemic.... nothing wrong with where you are looking, same everywhere.
2nd Gen Charger's have very simply grown far too popular for you to expect being able to find anything decent.... let be "affordable" compared to many other B-Body platforms as a starting point.
That's just the way it is....
you and literally hundreds of others are looking which the competition pressures prices.

I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know, just say'in here.... pretty clear choice to either accept the asking prices and competition/pressure from others also looking ?
or,
maybe look at acquiring a less 'pressured' B-Body platform again like the RR ?

Roadrunner's are not going for much less either. Same thing when I was looking for one. 15 thou. for many and just rollers. Know a guy in stark fl. that has a few old mopar's. and will try and see what he has. Thanks for all the input.

Nice car. Have a friend that has one for 60 thou. and is fully restored it is a 69. I do like to get my hand dirty and enjoy doing the work my self. As did with the runner. Thank you. toolmanmike

A nice lookin' black 69 just sold on Meecum for $57.

Black on black base model '69. 383 727 just sold at Mecum for $57k. Looked very nice shape. Today's junk on the sale sites are WAY over estimated.

Mini tubbed with Magnums and a red tail stripe. It was pretty! I think a gal bought it. Good for her!

I'll add to this post and I have to wonder how people can afford these cars? Okay I get the prices are supply and demand I suppose. I have to think it's because the average person is competing against business/corporation money aka dealerships as well?

But, hear me out here. Think about this way, let's say you buy a 2nd generation Charger in this market and you spend 70-90k for one. So there's a few ways to pay for one and I have one wonder if people borrow against their home (home equity) or take out a classic car loan for 10-15 years? The other part is let's the car need some work in addition you have a loan, insurance, taxes, and then maintenance/repair bills if you can't do the work yourself.

I guess I'm just coming from the mindset that most people I know don't make a ton of money but, I still wonder. I wonder too because if someone has mortgage, kids, and other obligations I just don't see it? Plus with a fragile/unstable market these cars are safer than stocks? It's not just Chargers either I see either I see 63-91 Wagoneers pulling big money along with Ford 4x4s and Chevrolet Square Bodies (73-87 trucks).

I'm just trying to wrap my head around it. I get there is wealthy people out there but, most people I know aren't Jay Leno or Dennis Collins. For what these Chargers are going for I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining or to sound like the "poors" as some people call us. But, I see as another obstacle if you want to get into owning one. Kind of stinks. I guess the world I live in is I see a really nice one these days should be price for $40-50k unless it's a rare Hemi car or some other model then I see more $$$ But, just my opinion and not worth much lol.

There are a lot of people out there with a lot of money. They want what they want and are willing to pay. It’s all relative.

Nice 70 Charger SE 383 car posted in the other thread on here in the general section at 45k. The car looks like a good deal.
