Greetings everyone. My name is Bill and I'm an American living in Hungary. I've recently purchased a 1973 Charger off the local market and am 100% in over my head. I'm a regular poster over at Grassroots Motorsports and even have a build thread started there for the car but I'm quickly realizing I'm going to have a LOT of questions that will require this board's expertise (let's face it, this is going to be a steep learning curve and I'm at the bottom of it). Plus, you guys seem to have some amazing deals going on in the used-parts section :)

Attached is a picture of the car. It's been pretty well eaten by tin worms, so that's what I'll be working on first. The end goal is to build a "Olympia Express" clone/tribute and blast it around the local rings in some historic racing.

For anyone interested, here's a link to my GRM build thread:

Cheers guys!
-Bill

Welcome from Alabama, your original neck of the woods sounds like most of our roots in Alabama. I couldn't read all of your thread on the forum you posted, but it's amazing that you made the plunge into a Mopar. Congratulations.

Welcome aboard from Ohio.

Hello Bill, welcome to the forum! Your build thread link sure has a sense of humour to it; your realistic observations about your recent purchase of a vaguely Charger shaped pile of sheet-metal shows that you know that a lot of work is ahead. Go ahead, start asking those questions!I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
By the way, a Chrysler A-833 transmission would have been the four speed originally offered, if you're going that route. A strong unit.

G, day from Australia:welcome:

Color me jealous, I absolutely LOVE Australia. Where abouts do you live? I've spent a week or so in WA back when I was in the Navy (Freemantle/Perth), and was down there for a month near Brisbane just a few years back!

Yeah, it sure took me long enough but I finally got here :D After tracking my RX8 a few times around here, I decided it was time to move on from the spinning triangles and into something with "torque". I'm thinking a 440 should scratch that itch quite nicely.

Thanks man! I've been half-looking at A-833's and think I even saw one on here for sale a while back. Boy those things command a dollar, dont they?
