But nope.....dang it. Funny how I can still surf the net, send pics to my email etc. Just can't make or receive calls. Same thing happening with cars too?

I thought mine was too.

It's "LTE" and apparently something like 3.5 "G".

I've been getting notices to get an upgrade SIM, but the stores don't have one for my phone.

2 days ago, the data/internet stopped.

...but everything else is still working.

all work, just no browser.

Go to a web site called www.backmarket.com and find a used or new phone for a great price. I bought
three phones from them so far and am very happy. They have new phones that have not sold for, say
$1000.00, that are six months old for around $600.00 with full warranty.

My old phone is a Moto E4Plus and came from Walmart on line for 100 bucks but saw a Moto on that site for 44 bucks....16mb though. That'll still do fine if you don't load it up with pics....and apps.

My phone is a samsung a10e and is about 2.5 years old.

I paid $100 brand new.

I've always used Moto phones, since they're typically "milspec" and built like tanks.
I like the metal chassis and the Gorilla glass they use; I put a rubberized protector on it that
utilizes a "holster" to carry the thing in.
When I drop it (and I do drop it sometimes), sucker is tough, man. Can't hardly hurt it.
Current model is a Moto Z4. Plenty big enough for me to "see" on it...
They want me to trade it in, of course - but it's paid for, works fine and is 4G.

The 10 year old Charger and the on-board UConnect system though? Yeah, I've seen articles online
saying they're about to lose some of their stuff because of 4G or whatever.
I do use the Bluetooth in the car to sync with my phone and make calls, but I wonder what will stop
working with all that soon - and if anything can be upgraded on the car to compensate?

@moparedtn My first phone was a Moto flip then we ran across several old phones at an estate sale we were working. One was a little Nokia that was only 2.5x4.75 and was a perfect work shirt pocket phone. All my work shirts had snaps so it falling out when bending over to pick something up wasn't a problem but have had Moto phone ever since.

Well, I stuck the SIM card from the Moto into a Samsung I had that's supposed to be 4G but so far nada so looks like I'm going to take a hike to ATT and see what they can do with it after saying all I had to do was install the card from my old phone. I like the Moto phones better too but after spending 560 at the vet yesterday, a new phone isn't in the budget....

Go into the settings and ensure 4g is enabled.
Did that....still ain't working. The ATT store is just down the street about a mile....I'll let them look it over. This phone is supposed to be 4G but I thought my old one was too. Oh well.

Does it show LTE? If so, that is enhanced 4g.
Yup, but seems to be it got locked when I was with Verizon. I got the phone from a member here and iirc, he said it wasn't locked. The girl at the ATT store said she's heard of that happening before.....so, still don't have a cell phone.

The carrier can unlock the phone.

...but you have to ask nicely and the given person my not know how to do it, or even how to request someone else do it, or even if they can.

There's a Verizon store not too far from me and will see if they can do it. The main reasons I left was because the service was spotty inside my home and trying to get them to give me a discount for being a vet....

That's what this Moto Z4 is - 4G LTE. It's paid for and I have no plans to upgrade. It does everything I want -
which ain't much, since I don't spend any time with my nose buried in it. :-)

I liked the fact that my E4+ has a 5000mah battery.....but that don't matter anymore.

So the message below is what I'm getting from my service ... Don't know wtf all the code numbers/letters mean but appears my old reliable basic flip phone which I've had for years, and does everything for me that a phone needs to do, is going to die at the end of the year and I have to pop for an "improved" one? I am not a Happy Camper. Hope they don't use this same tactic to get us into electric cars!!!
