I know its an oil filter. Its in my 63 330. Not sure if anyone know what kind of filter cartridge it would use and where to get.

You tell us. Open it up. Might be a filter, screen, or nothing. I never saw one like that. No info on the outside?

Looks like it is custom. Welded bracket and possibly upside down. Pop it open and see what, if anything, comes out.

Hello,
I currently have three 1963 dodge B bodies
1. Polara
2. Model 330
3. Model 440
None of mine have that, so someone modified it

That is a typical "Canister style oil filter" used in the mid to late 50s on some GMs such as Oldsmobile.
Seems someone modified the set-up for ease of access.
Seeing that the plumbing is there, retro-fit a remote system with our filters of today.

Is there a brand on it?
JC Whittney used to sell the toilet paper oil filters?

I have a pic of them but currently can not "upload" pics....

:mob:

Frustrating sometimes...

They were on Oldsmobile J2 engines in the mid 50s......
Im certain other brand cars at the time
Finally got to upload!

I wonder if they're any good. Certainly wouldn't use one.

If everything fits correctly inside - correct crush, screen on the outlet, cardboard tube, etc; I'd bet it would be ok for a low performance use with frequent changes. But like any filter, cutting it open after use would tell the tale.

Oh, it's a bypass filter. So you regular filter would stay as well.
