Was wondering about how long was the engine built before the car it self is it weeks or months ??

My '68 has a 4/17 engine assembly and a 4/23 spd.

Starter Relay: 52 7 = 52nd Week Of 1967
Horn Relay: Tuesday, January 2, 1968
Passenger Side Head Cast Date: 01-05-68, 2nd Shift
Winshield Wiper Motor: Monday, January 8, 1968
Front Seat Assembly Tags: 1/4/68 & 1/15/68
Transmission Built: Wednesday, January 17, 1968
Door Panels: 1/16/68, 1/18/68 & 1/22/68
Engine Assembly Date: 1 23 = Assembled Jan 23, 1968, 2nd Shift
Alternator: 6Th Week of 1968.

Thanks so the engine in yours was like 6 months before the body

My 69 Hemi bird has its block stamped 4-15 , the engine was assembled on 7-15 and the car was done on7-28; however the last date is a Sunday, so that is a little strange.

The UAW?? They sure as hell did at Ford. I'm sure they did at almost every plant back in the day.
