"Please S T O P saying this" thread.

Greg, I still get a kick out of this one, "Asking for a friend" or "asking for a stupid friend"......... A friend asked me to comment, he's pretty stupid..............

I know that not all will agree with me. That is reasonable.
To some guys that have not heard these words or phrases, they may still seem funny or witty. To those that see them a LOT, they can be annoying.

You may be right, but I hear the word money everyday, a LOT and I still like it, a LOT!! :poke::thumbsup:

There’s certainly occasions when correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. is more than advised. Having done thousands of reports, memo’s, taking exams, writing newsletters, articles…to achieve a passing grade or uphold credibility professionally when this is a part of one’s job. But, on a car forum or where some guys are incredibly talented mechanically…where their writing skills haven’t been required…or where they’re just not all that versed as another may be for one reason or another? Or is this to display some holier than thou cuz (because) one can write better than somebody else? IMO, WGAFF – there’s plenty of other **** to be concerned about.
IMO
People who bitch the most about grammar or spelling have nothing better going on in their lives than posting horseshit on a forum. An example of the memes thread that was deleted because of the horseshit posted by a member and they whined for weeks. Than someone else generated another.

If you don't like what you see, feel free to go away. Nobody is going to beg you to stay.

Anyone who writes on a forum about other people writing on a forum as they have nothing better to do in their lives is surely a hypocrite.

Well now, the party is over and the ice cream has turned to ****....................

Obvious there are a lot of members who are supremely talented with vehicle restoration offering good advice to those asking for it. Some are math wizzes, some aren’t and some have good writing skills while others don’t. Ragging on those who have spent their career building stuff not requiring writing skills or having occasion to practice them much posting on a car forum, why? Is it to embarrass them or a chance to ‘one-up’ them? Posting on the forum an English exam? Good bet those who are not all that adept with writing can run circles around the word police with other skills they have. I know a few that have become hugely successful-wealthy and not about play English teacher with them 40-50 years out of school.

My problem is run on sentences. Would bother to correct other peoples grammar or punctuation not even kern dogs.

Yeah, ok it bugs some to read misspelled words or poor punctuation (or go ape-**** if their name is misspelled). Conversely, it bugs me when people make an issue of it in public. Used to cringe when my brother-in-law would berate his younger brother in front of their large family cuz he mispronounced a word or ragged on his writing errors. All the siblings were straight A honor students; except him. Well the kid bro suffered from dyslexia and a couple years passed before testing identified it. I had a POS uncle, a drunk, who came to visit every few years; thankfully no more than this. He spotted my first HS freshman metal project on the kitchen counter, a paper punch. Yep, looked crappy; but it worked. He got into long tirade about how shitty it looked running up one side and down the other on me about it. My dad who was never one to get pissed very often had enough of it telling him to “Ok enough already, shut up about it or I’ll shove it down your throat”. This was a lesson though and maybe why I’m a bit bugged. Never pulled this crap with my kids remembering this. When there was a problem I coached them out of earshot from others. Yeah fine, I’m good with light-hearted fun; but finding it as an excuse to embarrass someone is another..

Holy Sheeetface Fatman....what happened to the stop saying this thread!! :D and on and on and on....on.....on
And I haven't even had any beer today!

HAVE TO DO CORRECTIONS IN RED ALL CAPS BOLD FONTS FOR EMPHASIS AND END THE COMMENTARY WITH A QUESTION MARK ALONG WITH A LEFT-HANDED COMPLIMENT INSTEAD OF A DIRECT INSULT TO GIVE THE OFFENDER CAUSE FOR PAUSE. OTHERWISE, THEY MIGHT JUST IGNORE THE BEST OF INTENTIONS. :blah:

For all intents and purposes...this works:D

Then there are some of us that get our education from the walls of a Johnny on the spot or as I like to call them, Porta-john Honey bucket. Invented by Mr. I P Freely.

I’ve actuly gotten better on my readn and rigtn since I been on these forams. Deaf in school (didn’t know it till I was 20) so I pronounced and wrote what I heard

There is a guy on the jobsite that is a really cool dude. I nicknamed him "Salamander" and others started calling him that as well. I decided to start writing graffiti about him.
I usually write insults and obnoxious stuff but for this guy "Sal", I went a different route.
