Mine is a 2020 1500.... Again, I think its the big 6.6 dieselscall dealership and find out if your Vin# is on recall list.
I had thought they were composite? My Brother-in Law bought a new 2022 GMC. He backed into his trolling motor prop and cut his aluminum tailgate. I went to find him one and used they are some fancy units bringing $5,000 to $8,000.

Yes , great Engineering there rates 150,0000 miles for replacement. Transmission will be needed to be pulled. On duramax Forum possible to 200,0000Aren't those the ones with the belt driven oil pump?
Never say that out loud!! LOL Those were a sad excuse of an engine!!GM recalling diesels ? Is my 1980 Oldsmobile diesel on the list ?
Were they the ones that used a standard automotive block?Never say that out loud!! LOL Those were a sad excuse of an engine!!
And I can attest to that personally.Yes, they were a black cloud that hung over GM for years. They took a gas engine and called it a diesel. Had a friend that had a truck with one. He bought it because he drove a long distance to work and could diesel fuel from work. If you wanted to pass a snail you needed to floor it a mile ahead. It had NO power at all. They offered and did convert some back to gas. It didn't matter it was to late, it was a black mark on them for years. JUNK!!!
