I can't wait till they start recalling all of the electric vehicles that none of
their Mechanics know how to work on!!!! Ha!

My son-in-law after having a Ram 2500 with a Diesel bought a GMC pickup with a Diesel in Dec.. The Dodge had almost 100,000 miles.

My Brother-in Law bought a new 2022 GMC. He backed into his trolling motor prop and cut his aluminum tailgate. I went to find him one and used they are some fancy units bringing $5,000 to $8,000.

So far so good with my.....97 diesel powered Dodge. :D Had a recall probably 25 years ago for the throttle cable but didn't see anything up with that so still running it. Other than the dang dash pad/plastic falling apart, it's been a good truck.

I had thought they were composite?

Yes, they were a black cloud that hung over GM for years. They took a gas engine and called it a diesel. Had a friend that had a truck with one. He bought it because he drove a long distance to work and could diesel fuel from work. If you wanted to pass a snail you needed to floor it a mile ahead. It had NO power at all. They offered and did convert some back to gas. It didn't matter it was to late, it was a black mark on them for years. JUNK!!!

And I can attest to that personally.

The only good thing about the 5.7 diesel was that it made a great race block for gas. Top them off with Batten heads and you had a potent package.

The block was better than a stock gas 350. Still basically a 350. The heads were the biggest problem. Your right though, not much of diesel engine, but could be a good gas engine. I never heard a good thing about them.
