The old.... lets see some wheel pics - may be looking to swap out

I am still going back and forth with this - I am so undecided, and without a decent hot rod shop in the area to look at some in person its hard to tell.

What is the difference between Tork Thrust II and D's? I have scoured the web and of course there is misleading info and contradicting info.

As much as I like the look of all black on my red car, I may just go with the polished alum version of either of the two above.....

Any good side pics of 66/67 cars with various wheels keep them coming.
To the best of my knowledge, ttd's are one piece, tt2's are two piece. TTO's are the original straight spoke one piece. Originally changed to the curve spoked d's to clear 65 corvette disc brakes.

May I suggest Keystone Klassic? One of my favorite wheels, has kind of the magnum 500 look, but more depth
(Not my cars, unfortunately)

My Coronet has 15x7 Torque thrusts
I cant make up my mind if I like them or not on a the car in its color combination

They look better, to me, with the raised white letter tires, IMHO. When I wear mine out, that's what I'll be replacing them with. I'm running the black walls now, because they are brand new & that's what my rims came with.

I ve never seen a car yet, in ANY color, that didn't look great with gray torque thrusts on it.
I would have preferred grey, but I got the rims, tires, center caps & lugs - brand new with 7 miles on them for a great deal. So, I guess I'll live with the black

I understand, and can relate.
A while back, I bought some 10x16 slicks, and went looking for some 16"wheels for em. Found polished tt's on sale, cheap, ended up buying them, and matching fronts. The fronts were 15s, and not on sale. I would have preferred gray, but the polished rears were 1/2 price.

I pick up a pale yellow 66 Satellite and I think the torque thrusts wheels are going to get switched over to it and these factory road wheels will end up on the Coronet . Before I put it back up for sale.

I REALLY like this look

Better view of the coronet with the torque thrusts on it.
Im about 99% sure they are going on the Yellow car when it gets here

Started with the original wheels and wheelcovers I had on the car in 1980 to 1982
Then, 14" Road wheels with trim rings. (1982-1989)
14" chrome Magnum 500s (1989-2010)
1969-coded Torque-Thrust D wheels with matte black spokes (2010-2012)
A set of chrome-reverse wheels with blackwalls and baby moons (2012-2014)
I ran the stock wheels, whitewalls and '66 wheelcovers again (2014-2018)

At present is what is pictured (2018-now).

Once these tires turn six years old, I'd like to go with a set of 16" or 17" Magnum 500 look-alikes, like in post #68. But, more likely is the 15" Torque-Thrust-D wheels like the Satellite in post #67. I've always liked that wheel, and regretted selling mine in 2012 as soon as the buyer loaded them up.

Yep, IMHO, those grey Torque Thrusts not only look better, they just look right.

well - I made a choice....got them on their way.

Went a little different, but same type of style - these just had a slightly different look than some of the others. Everything I hear says the "gun metal" is a little shinier than others - so I am hoping thats the case.

I've got that exact wheel, in gunmetal, 17x7 and 17x8, on my 57 chevy. You'll like em.

is the gun metal slightly shiny.... I guess compared to the dull gray Torq thrusts?

Awesome to hear you like them !

Yes. The gunmetal is a powder coat, then the whole wheel is clear powdercoat.
One more thing tho, you will probably need longer studs, which opens another can of worms. I definitely needed longer studs on my 57, but 57 chevy parts are everywhere.

Dang.... didn't think about longer studs. I know mine have been changed. They seem plenty long. But will have to see how thick these new ones are.

In the "old days", mags used mag shoulder lugs that fitted thru the wheel, so the customer didn't need new studs. The new style "mag wheels" seem to use conical lugs, that don't go thru the wheel. So, if you have a 3/4" long thread on the stud, with the old mag lugs, no problem. But if you have 3/4" long studs, and the wheel using conicals is 1/2" or 5/8" thick, suddenly you have about three threads holding your wheel on. With conical, I wouldnt have any less than 1 1/2" of threaded studs.
(I have 3" or more studs on almost everything I own.....)
