The first one of these.

Now this was a surprise. I opened my mailbox today and found a 2023 calendar that was sent to me. It was from a nice gentleman who was taking pictures at the Gimli Manitoba track last fall. I’m flipping through and came upon my 64 in action. First one of these too. Now THAT’s Cool Eh.

If that was my car, it would be April forever at my house.....

Now you need the perfect light with 10.000!

Had a great time at the track last weekend. No wins but a nice time slip.

This season I’ve been working on me and it’s showing up on the reaction times.

A second round shot on the 20th and last one of the day unfortunately, due to yours truly. I dialled back due to bad air, ended up breaking out.
The bad part of this is that my opponent had a second head start on me. He launched and a few feet out he broke. Car dropped and there he sat. I checked my mirror he was motionless. I was going to run it to the 1000’ but then decided to run it out for a next round dial. On the return road who do I see coming putzing down the track…. I broke out and he took the stripe at a snails pace. Never too old to learn over here and I’ll never do that again.
To make matters worse the same guy won the next round the exact same way.
Regardless, things are coming around nicely in my Mopar camp.

This picture was 3 weeks ago. Old Gold was running 10.01’s, steel hood and all. Not much room left. 10.00 is the limit.
I grinned when I read your post. I'm almost famous for that. I need to work on me. Thanks Dave

2 months ago a guy in my class put up a .000 in qualifying and didn't get the bye. A .0000 got it. The competition seems to be getting better... I've gotten lucky 5 times with my old, slower GTX.
Not so lucky with this car...

I almost did the same thing the same day.
I caught my guy way before the stripe, he must have missed a gear or something.
I thought I backed way off, down 5+ mph, but was only.0088 over my dial.
I guess the air was getting better.

I've had 4 .000 R/T against me in my time racing. They all have loaded up their trailer. The most recent one.

Another great weekend of racing at SIR was had, but unfortunately that’s also the last meet for the season.

The 64 was up for the challenge this weekend, going all the way to the semi final on day 1, at which time I went red. I was happy with that, I’ve been working on my lights and they’re coming around real well.

(Previous pic, no photos available from the weekend yet but the 64 was up there every pass)

Weather was great all weekend and a good turnout at our northern facility. Picture of day 2, first round. The Barracuda is a tough competitor, known for deadly lights so I had to be on my game. Unfortunately I was just a touch too on my game, cutting a -.002 red to the Barracuda’s .001

Aside from myself going into the trailer, there’s full staging lanes, great competition and a constantly improving facility at SIR, which is terrific and something that we all work at.
Now that the season is over I’m itching to get at the old Plymouth. I’ve got a number of improvements and changes to make over the winter. Heck, I may be done by winter cause I’m on my way out to the shop to get busy right after I press send.

You did great Saturday. Was great to see you again my friend.

I love ur car Mike. It’s awesome. Kim
Thanks Kim! Sorry, I was real late coming upon your comment, racing season ended and I tore into “off-season” mode on the 64. Maybe we’ll see you out next year with us.
