The most I ever paid, was to see George Harrison and Ravi Shankar in the mid 70's. It was right at 10 dollars and I remember thinking, I shouldn't do this! As for why so much, because they think they're worth it, whatever the market will bear. I saw ZZ Top in the early 70's at a drive-in theater for almost nothing, today you would think you were seeing God at a tune of about a 130 dollars. Not me, I'm done with that!!How & why did top attraction concert tickets go from $4.50 to hundreds of dollars each? Their price sure didn’t follow the inflation curve.

I can imagine. Like Harrison, I thought of if as a once in a lifetime opportunity. You don't want to know what I paid for a pair of McCartney tickets 14 years ago.
Doesn't get much more random than that.
