Is there a good 66 VIN and fender tag decoder?

w/6 = built for sale in Canada (also notice that coincidently, the last five digits, 09026, of the original car's SO and this car match. Because of the way the SO numbers are assigned for MY '66, that's expected and common)

Wow, okay. Didn’t expect to find out the car was built for sale in Canada!
Or to learn that SO numbers can match other cars.
Thanks!

Can we see the interior?

I have definitely seen citron gold/green interiors in 66 B body cars.

There used to be a 66/67 Charger registry page that have a couple hundred fairly well documented cars including a lot of exterior and interior pictures.

Here it is in a Plymouth-

I think that is 100% totally correct interior with the exception maybe of the green on the dash and console.

Look at the pic of the Plymouth int I posted above.

The lighting on the Mecum pics makes the shades of the paint look funny.

It also looks like the exterior tint isn't quite right either, but the upholstery looks right to me.

Yeah. I visited it and got some answers. Just trying to find out exactly how the inside would have looked as built. Don’t see green as an interior color option for a gold 66 Coronet.
It’s in great shape and looks fine. Just trying to determine accuracy.

I edited 2 of my very recent posts and added a pic.

@Maxrat Was doing a Charger interior like this I believe.

So.....

Mopar used "Y" (yellow) for gold and tan interior color codes.

"Citron" IIRC means "lemon and/or lime".

Citron gold is lime gold. It has a green tint (at least in 66).

Right. The upholstery is accurate to me.

It’s all the green that I think is inaccurate.

According to all I’ve found, everything I have that’s green is supposed to be a gold, citron gold and or white.
I’m fairly certain they wouldn’t have put in white carpet in but I’m just guessing on what color the green components were originally.

The more I look, the more I think it was possibly all one color inside and that everything was a citron gold (no green or white)

According to some here and to information found at link below, there really isn’t any additional evidence suggesting more than one color was used for inside trim. Three digit code, one color interior trim.

Link

Citron Vinyl Codes: P4Y, H4Y.

White Codes: P4W

My guess is that it never had any white interior parts because that would be a P4W TRM code and it’s a P4Y.

If true and if I wanted to correct the color I’d be replacing everything that’s green in citron gold. I kind of thought they would have been using at least two colors for interiors but maybe not.

I think it's legit, the green might be a tad off on shade.
Looking at your pictures, you may have the wrong window cranks.

Ugh!!
What should they be??
Sorry! Stand corrected, I just checked my orig 66 500 and they are straight. The Chargers had curved ones.
Yours look like they might rub the door panels.

I know 66 Coronet 500's had monochrome interiors.

66 Coronet 440 had two tone. (sounds backwards, doesn't it?)

If you look at that Plymouth interior pic I posted, the dash is the same color as everything else.
My guess is someone couldn't be bothered, or didn't want to redo or purchase again, the pant and/or labor to restore the dash.

I'm not sure about Charger, but 66 Coronet cranks are different than 67 and 68.

Logic says Charger would follow suit, but logic doesn't always apply.

Yes, those look like '67 window cranks to me.

Are the plastic washers present between them and the door panels?

I've also very recently learned (thanks FBBO) that 66/67 Chargers had different regulators with longer crank pins because of the increased thickness of the Charger door panel vs the Coronet/Plymouth panels.

Do the rear cranks rub?

Is it possible someone used Coronet/Plymouth regulators during the restore?
The reason I ask is because simply using 67 cranks in a 66 car shouldn't cause rubbing or they would have rubbed in 67 cars.
...unless the 67 door panel is different to compensate.
