Hey all,

I recently purchased a set of exhaust pipes from a vendor. I got them Friday and dry fitted them yesterday. The right-hand side fit perfectly. The left-hand side is off by a about 30 to 45 degrees. I asked the vendor and he said I had the wrong casting numbers for the 67 exhaust... said it was for a 68.

2843992-1 is the casting for the left-hand side HP exhaust I have. Is this a 68 casting?!? Everything I have found says that casting is for 66 to 72 for both automatic and standard transmissions.

Here it is mounted but the angle is way off.

Chrysler put the 2843992 on 1968 and 1969 383/440 B-bodies.

it will fit in a 1966-1972

The left side HP exhaust manifold for a 1967 440 car is a one year only manifold and the H-pipe is different than the 68-69
cars because of the exhaust exit.

I would have to look up the casting number but it is easy to recognize. The casting number will be upside down when
the manifold is bolted to the engine.

Sounds like you have a 68-69 manifold and a 67 H-pipe

So your saying the casting number is upside down IF it is a 67 casting?

The 67 left side casting number is different than a 68-69. Also there are to some visual differences that are easy to see if you know what you are looking for.

Get the torch out. Some heat and a little persuasion and you should be able to make it work.Or mark it and bring it to a local muffler shop and let them tweak it.

Yea... I have to work tomorrow but I will pull the empty gas bottle off the MIG and have my wife go pick some for tomorrow night's evening in the garage.

Just get it done. My high dollar TTI system gave me issues. Right side was good left side got some bends. $hit happens.
