Firearm Friday

No pics, But I just picked up a dang nice Glock 17 from a good friend of mine.

I was on the fence about a glock and ended up getting a CZ75B instead. No regrets about it. Nothing wrong at all with glocks. They really do handle well and are accurate. The difference was the fit in my big hand. The big frame cz fit better.

My other lever action - a Turnbull’s Model 86 in .45-70. A gift from my wife after my second retirement.

Before I lost all my firearms in another freak canoeing accident, I used to have one of these..
not an original top bolt and short barrel and fire full auto but it was very nice, heavy and shot well!

We had an older gentleman years ago came into the office and turned a real WWll Thompson in with 3 sticks and 2 drum magazines.. he picked the drums up after the war. Wasn’t that awesome to shoot!

My late father was a prominent gun collector, and after he passed away I saved a Glock 17 he had thinking it would be a good home defense gun and good to take to the range. A few years ago, I decided I'd really rather have a Sig and looked into selling my Glock to help finance the Sig. My dad had bought this one when they first started being imported in the mid 80s, and doing some research, I found these early "pencil barrels" with "Tupperware" box are very collectible and it was potentially worth thousands of dollars! I looked around a bit for dealers who'd take it on consignment, but no luck. I guess no one is very motivated to make money? I bought a new Sig P210 anyway, and still have the Glock and if I ever get ambitious maybe I'll try to find out a way I'm comfortable with to find the Glock a new home.

Just appreciate all the guns y'all have but my preference is to never tell or broadcast what I have so I refrain from ever posting up when it comes to Firearms. Just me as it is actually no ones Bee's Wax...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

My dad was mainly a collector and researcher of semi automatic pistols, but for a time when I was a kid he had a really nice M1 Gerand I was really enamored with. I was really bummed when he sold it, and I didn't get around to buying a Gerand of my own until fairly recently. I work for the company that makes International Trucks, and when I found my company's predecessor International Harvester had made M1 Gerands in the mid 50s under contract for the US, I had to find an IHC Gerand. I did, so now I have 2. Both are cold war era examples. The one my dad had in the 70s must have been a WWII era example, I sure wish he'd kept it! Some day I would like to find a nice Winchester or Springfield Gerand to add to my collection. They sure have gotten pricey though.

I certainly agree and a wise decision for weapons acquired without the 4473 form. But, if you had to fill out the form, the gestapo already knows what you got. Don’t forget about the timely canoe accidents or even “selling” them in your local magazines such as Uncle Henry’s here in Maine. But still hush hush is the best idea!

I figure no one’s coming after my 1870 - 1880 model era crank guns. Unfortunately everything else was lost in a boating accident.

Sometimes you need to do, what you gotta do...

now if this was a private forum, away from nefarious people
not for any 'Joe' Schmoe, or their henchmen
that have nothing better to do than infringe on people's legal rights as Americans
it'd be more appropriate to show some
but you never know 'today'

i used to have the 30-30 winchester. I liked, it but the top eject always bothered me.
Also, the scope had to be offset which i didn't like either. i sold it. i like my Henry much more

My pair of 45's

Marlin 1893 30-30, made in 1896 and rebarrelled in the 30's. It's still a tack driver. A friend inherited it and his wife won't allow guns in their house so it lives with me now.

Holy Chit! How did I miss this one?
Well, I'm renewing my first gun. NEF 12. Has smooth and slug barrel. Slug barrel lost it rear sight shooting a doe in a snow storm @10 years ago so if anyone has one, let me know. I hit rust spots tonight, since it's been abused for years and been my go to for youth waterfowl hunts.
Sorry, today feels like Friday...
