Who runs "Hemi" Mufflers? Looking for sound clips

Running the Dynomax turbos from TTI on the 440RB. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and put the electronic cut outs in while you have it apart. You get the best of both worlds. Open it up to make some noise and shut it down thru the neighborhood. After running it open, any muffler sounds like a Tesla passing by. The best part if you have a decent cam is you can hear each cylinder hit at idle.

Got a pic of your cutout setup?

Same set up as 91 r/t but an X-pipe. Don’t want no stupid cut out either. Raised enough Hell and made too much noice with this car when I was a lot younger. This is a video of a video so the quality isn’t the greatest and it’s older.

Here’s my GTX with 2-1/2 “ TTI exhaust and Dynomax mufflers. Camera seems to amplify engine noise a lot - car has AC, lots of belts and some valve train noise.

No good pictures on the car but noted to take some. Attached are my sons car prior to extending the pipes and a stock picture for reference. The cut outs land right under the passenger floor board so I fished the wires up thru a floorboard rubber grommet and then under the carpet to the dash switch. I felt like this was the best way to keep from burning wires. The cut outs have the shorter curved tips but I found the interior noise is greatly reduced by adding 18” of pipe and getting out close to the rocker panel but not blowing directly on the rear tires.

Looking into some exhaust options for my build. From what I hear, a nice "loud but not too loud" muffler is the factory Hemi muffler. Looking on YouTube, I can't really find any examples of what they sound like! Exhaust system will be hooked up to a stock 440. I'm running some small temporary glasspacks and she is LOUD. Although I do love that classic glasspack sound, I know it'll be annoying at freeway speed.

In a nutshell: Volume level 1 thru 10, I'm shooting for a 5!

Please link any videos you may have of what a Hemi muffler would sound like. Would really love to hear them!

Can't send you a sound check however I am on my second set of Hemi mufflers.
Have a 69 RR built 383 with a lot of goodies to support. Recently purchased my second set through Accurate exhaust. Sounds great, nice rumble a a perfect fit. No disappointments.
I didn't want the loud raspy sound. Good luck.
Order the proper hangers too.

If you want a not so loud exhaust system, try the Flowmaster 70 series big block II 2.5 In/ out Love them on my car with lots of compliments -very close to original sound

Anyone have the ACM6900 series on there car.

My hemi Satellite is too quiet and I want a more raspy sound

And Im about " that close" to making an order with Accurate Exhaust the first of the week

Thats what I have on my car. They are fairly raspy at idle but not what I would classify as loud. From what I remember your car has higher than stock compression ratio so that might give it a bit more aggressiveness.

Thanks, Yes. mine is approx 11.5
Ive tried to take a video of mine and it didnt work out so well.
My 383 car has 2.5" TTI and an unknown by me muffler. But its to loud for my taste. I want something in between the 2 for the hemi car

If they look like these on my GTX with TTI, they may be their Dynamax super turbo mufflers.

However I would not consider mine to be loud although there is a little drone at speed. Sort of hard comparing to the 66’s Hemi mufflers since the GTX is an auto with a slightly looser than stock converter. Maybe they bought TTI pipes on your car and sourced mufflers elsewhere. I like Magnaflow mufflers but they might be louder than you want.

My hemi car.
All I know if the exhaust came from Yearone many years ago

Im not after loud and obnoxious. Just a little more rumble than this

My 383 car. It has a full TTI exhaust

If you rev it up, it gets a little loud for me

Those are the Dynomax Super Trubo's.

I don't agree. I have 2-1/2 TTI with Dynamax super turbos and they don’t sound like that. But could be the medium it was recorded with.

I will take a look later today and see if any markings.

Either way. Thats not the sound Im after for the hemi car

Are those on your 383 car? If so, then I have to admit to 69a100 to being wrong but my 440 GTX sure doesn’t sound harsh and raspy like that. It sounds more like your Hemi.

edit. - just to make sure sometimers wasn’t setting in after installing my TTI system 20 years ago, I went and checked my invoice and it includes #17748 DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers. I still have the DynoMax decals from the muffler boxes. I’ll try to take a video of it tomorrow with my IPad which seems to reproduce sound well.

Ran them behind a mild 383 in the early 70's and they were pretty quiet.....
