I Still use a Pencil sharpener in the Garage

This is the coolest pencil sharpener that I’ve ever seen. My grandfather salvaged it from a old train station more then half a century ago.
You insert the pencil in the top and turn the crank.
Three knives rotate, shaving the side off the pencil. As the knife goes by a cog it rotates the pencil an eighth of a turn. The next knife shaves the side off, and rotates another eighth of a turn.
Gotta be a century old, still works slick.DBA780AD-0F72-4ECC-8E67-311E77E357D2.jpegEF18CEA7-EF19-46CA-B106-2123C9908F99.jpeg

On a similar note, have you seen the new carpenter pencils? They have round lead not flat like the originals, glad I still have a bunch left. Sharpen with a knife

I also have one in the garage, but don't have a cover for it.
Was in a box full of parts that i purchased.
Gets used every so often, with the shavings then get blown away, off the work bench.

I use a razor blade or a small knife on Carpenter Pencils.

Once a carpenter, always a carpenter. I still have a couple decades of free promo carpenters pencils left to go through.

I have on that came with the house when I bought it. I have a couple of electric ones, but they don't hold a candle to olde reliable for sharpness.
