Disc brake conversion is still not really "right"

Oooooh, I knew I'd hit a snag before getting the Coronet home. We ordered a new park brake cable for the right rear. First one was the left, sent it back, got the "right" cable. Except it is too short by less than an inch. One lousy inch! So, now the bracket is being modified to accommodate the new, "wrong" part. Should be done very soon!

I've noticed that nothing ordered anymore is correct. It's all shoddy parts, cheaply-stamped or pressed with inferior, unsafe materials, and/or simply unavailable. This doesn't apply just to old cars, either. Lots of factory crap for metric Challengers and Rams can't be had at all. The 5.7 Hemi head gaskets are the current part made of unobtanium.

This gets so old.

Drove it home! It was about a 15-mile drive on section roads and Interstate. The car hasn't driven this nice in probably 20 years. I tend to get pissed off when I'm working on things, anymore.

I'll definitely put some miles on it this year. I've missed my baby. All of the 100-year celebrations of Route 66 start soon, and living just a few miles from the Mother Road is very convenient. I look forward to putting miles on it.

So are we ever going to get a picture of your baby in this thread or what? :poke::lol:

She was in a good mood today. Started right up and she's ready for action!
