ALERT the Authorities.....

Received a small Summit order today. No tariff applied.
Duh.

Are you a licensed importer? Registered import business? THOSE are the entities who pay tariffs, not individual mail-order buyers. Tariffs are industrial-scale charges, not end-user-sale items.

It will be end user on both sides of the border that will be paying and we will all hurt

It will be like the old days of prohabition exept it will be melting down empty cans in the back yard furnace & running the ingots across the border in a souped up dodge

Exactly!

Where tariffs get us is when those importers have to pay them, the prices of the goods go up. They need to recover their money. So, eventually it gets to the consumer. But the basic end user consumer doesn’t pay the actual tariff! Sort of…

Anyone that questions the need for the US to match the tariffs of our trading partners needs to take a drive through the former industrial cites of the Midwest.
You will see that we are in worse shape than the countries we are sending our $$$$$ to “help”.

Last post on this topic was March 13th. Now Oct 6th. Has anything changed? Possibly looking at buying a gauge cluster from a Canada business (shipping to TN). Thanks for any help. Tried hitting a few websites but it's either unclear.

Amazed this thread still active. To ship South, at true value for anything over $100 CDN, at the moment. Must have business #. Shipper must prepay the 35% tariff or where ever it's % is at this week, to the courier on top of shipping expense. Why I'm selling ZIP for the time being.

And if the shipper is “prepaying” the tariff you know damn well they’re charging you - contrary to what Trump’s been telling you !!

And it’s kinda funny … you can’t spend more than $100 unless you’re a registered business. There goes another “freedom” !

the "collection" system is overwhelmed, and not everyone is getting charged the applicable tariffs, right now.

Those personal exemptions were wiped out a couple weeks ago.
