I never saw anyplace put speed bumps in pairs before. Speed on this road and not only tear up your car, but probably risk compressing a few vertebrae and knocking out a filling too!

The main street on the west side of our place has a series of bumps like those. Signs before you hit them and signs pointing right at them. It's funny to hear the brakes getting hit, plus the front end scrapes, after some boob hits them at speed. Some pay attention but there are others who don't even slow down. "I'm in a hurry"! Most of those are chicks.

I'm in favor of chicanes over bumps. They are a lot more fun.

The spacing of those bumps seem engineered to do maximum damage to speeding cars.
My employer has a test track in Indiana for doing various tests on our trucks. The track was first built by Studebaker ages ago.
A couple years ago, I got to go there for a "ride and drive" event. One of the tracks at the facility is a durability track, but I think it could just as easily have been named the torture track. It is a road heading up through some woods, looked quite pleasant to drive a truck through. A few hundred feet into the journey, I spotted a bunch of cobblestones embedded into the asphalt. I was only going maybe 5 mph, but as soon as I hit the cobblestones, all hell broke loose, if not for wearing a seatbelt my head would have hit the roof of the cab!
There were several other areas on that track that had various series of small obstructions built into the pavement, and they beat the heck out of the truck and the driver even at slow speeds. It surprised me how modest looking bumps and rises in pavement can cause all hell to break loose when driving over them.
They rent the track out to other manufacturers to use for their tests also. I was told an RV manufacture has had receivers break off of pickup trucks towing RV trailers through the durability track.
Apparently they have trouble keeping their driver jobs at the track filled. I can understand, I couldn't take driving on that track for very long!

Some f-ing a-holes got speed bumps installed on one of the access streets to my house. And it's a four Xtra mile trip to use the other access road to avoid the bumps.
I used to drive around 30-35 on that street (the other one has a 45 mph speed limit)
So, most of us in the neighborhood started driving on the dirt shoulder around the bumps (raising as much dust as possible, at least EYE did!)
So the a$$f#@ks got cement barriers installed next to the bumps.
Fortunately, I found out that hitting the bumps at speed disturbed my trucks a lot less than at ten mph, so now I travel that street at 60 mph, sounding my horn.

We were in Mexico a few years aback . They had speed bump that would get scholl buses air borne . I kid you not . \
Lot's of warning signs and yet the kids in the bus were bouncing everywhere.

I'm 1/2 surprised they don't also have a couple cop cars
either side of the road too
generating income for the town/city
if it's such a bad speed trap they need to deploy speed bumps

A city counsel or county supervisor letters are in order
bring up or find some broken suspension parts, shocks springs or torsion bars etc.
claim they are from your 50+ year old classic car
& will bring suit against them, for wear & tear, destroying your car
see if they will bite,
or if they will, take out the unnecessary speed bumps

good luck with that

Is there a school by there ?
or something like a park or playground with lil' kids near the street ?
to necessitate the speed bumps ?

There are a series of videos on Youtube posted from that channel, presumably it's from the channel owner's security camera.
If so it would be fun for him to sit out on the front porch on nice evenings sipping a beer and watching the cars hit the speedbumps.
I believe it was stated in one of the video's comments sections that there is a school in that area and there has been a lot of issues with speeding by the school.
I love the pickup pulling a trailer losing his load going over the bumps near the start of this video.

That looks brutal. Our idiot traffic people in our community put in a bunch of pre-fab speed bumps in they call “Speed Cushions”. There’s nothing cushioning about them. Those streets are basically off-limits now to my ERA Cobra. The front oil cooler scoop is at most 4” off the ground (3-1/2” I think) and the frame rails/bell housing flange about 4”. No way it would make it over them without a lot of damage. My old 2017 Shelby GT350 would not survive going over one either without tearing off the front spoiler.

I would think after they tear up a few Police cars, ambulances and fire trucks over these ridiculous things that they would learn a lesson.

Around here the rednecks would try to jump them both as a challenge !
A couple of years ago, we were staying near Sneads (Fl) and my wife and I were out for a ride. We weren’t far from Chattahooche and my wife says “let’s go to thrill hill”. The kids she grew up with used to go there and drive it. So we went there and right at the bottom of the hill was a speed bump with a 25 mph zone. Kind of ruined the mood.

Every neighborhood in Tallahassee that is between main drags and is an access point between the two has "traffic calming devises" now and they are a pain in the arse !
