Can someone please decode this 1964 polara 500 fender tag?
They no longer supply that information. Now they just send you a copy of the IBM card.It looks to be in nice condition. Someone can decode it for you. But what you really want, if this is your car, is to contact Chrysler Historical and they will send you everything about the car.
The VIN would be good to clarify some details. Can someone please decode this 1964 polara 500 fender tag?View attachment 1881929
You will learn a lot if you dig into the internet and do it yourself. Just sayin. When you find out what the Z code is let us know. My book doesn't tell me that. Can someone please decode this 1964 polara 500 fender tag?View attachment 1881929
Well, that would still be pretty wonderful. They no longer supply that information. Now they just send you a copy of the IBM card.
It is since it will tie the VIN number to the SO number.Well, that would still be pretty wonderful.
Please post first four digits of the VIN. Probably 634 and possibly 2,5,6 or 7. The last digit defines the assembly plant. I plugged your data into my Jefferson assembly plant decoder and got next to nothing. Probably Torqueflite transmission and a heater. This very handy site will provide information on VIN, paint, trim, body style and the SO & NUMBER codes on the bottom line. Specification Index Data for many brands and models there, including most MoPars. They show the car to be a Turquoise Metallic 1964 Dodge Polara 500 convertible with black vinyl interior., scheduled for assembly on May 21, 1964. The tag shows lots of options which I found only clues: A5: TorqueFlite; F1: Radio-probably a Golden Tone AM-possibly the little 2 Watt base, H5J6-one will be the original convertible top color-certainly black--the other may indicate a power top; M3,N8-electrical items-perhaps the light group of backup, glovebox, trunk & map light--the other power something-seats, windows, antenna; P0 a mirror--possibly LH remote adj or tilt type inside; Q0 -no clue; P5: some kind of engine code-possibly a PCV/CCV emission control; T4: no clue; W2: Sold car-expedite; Z7: No clue. Some other helpful guy can chime in now. Sounds like a great car. Look for a Production Broadcast sheet tucked in behind the springs of the back seat upright cushion. It won't totally decode the letter-number pairs on Lines 3 & 4 but will list all the components. Best wishes for more answers an for a safe and enjoyable Holiday weekend. Can someone please decode this 1964 polara 500 fender tag?View attachment 1881929
