Carlisle Tent Activities 2025 - Volunteers Needed!

Thanks to kerndog, and coronetdarter and their wife's for making the trip from California to Pennsylvania to attend the show. It was nice meeting you all, hopefully we will see you again next year.
The honor for Long Distance members go to you and your wife, friend. I know of five of us northern Californians that made the trip so we are probably the second longest ones. Did anyone travel up from
central Mexico or Western Canada ?

I left at 12:00 to go to South Mountain Dragway. Hot, man was it hot! Made a few passes. Lit the red in first round eliminations. Met a few good guys, had some fun, that's what it's all about.

Feels good to be home in the AC! I didn't break anything so I'll be back at the show tomorrow morning.

Wow. We were there too with the Charger. Made a couple TnT passes. Pretty surprised by the low car count. Which car is yours? Might have a picture.

Many thanks to Pistol Pete. Mrs Pete, Hawk and the rest of the crew, whose names I do not remember, for the awesome job that they did with everything!

Thank you Hawkrod, Pistol Pete and those that worked tirelessly to make everyone else’s Carlisle Event experience even better. The hospitality was fantastic and the food truly unbelievable. Casey and I had a great time! It was great meeting and visiting with those we met.

The aroma of Race Fuel, the sound of Big Blocks. This the way that Freedom sounds and smells.
These are My People! God Bless the USA.

I saw you make a couple of passes. When I saw your car I thought maybe you were just spectators but then I watched you make a pass. Sounded great!

I'm the one with the '62 Dodge who red lighted in the first round of eliminations

Ruth and I are home unpacking the vehicles, cleaning the utensils, wondering why we only have salt shakers and no pepper shakers....:BangHead:

Again, another banner year and we can't thank all of you enough for the kind words, accolades and lack of lawsuits (thus far).

Usually it's just a few of us pulling this off and frankly, it was quite taxing. But this year, so many people stepped up with either monetary donations, food, papergoods, ice, drinks that the burden was not as heavy and I thank you all. Micheal, our Chippendale griller did a superb job and of course, special thanks to Richard (69bfan) for the table and chair rental. We'd all have grassy butts if it wasn't for him.

It was a real pleasure meeting our west coast brethren and their lovely spouses, once again touching base with some miscreant that lives in the middle of the ocean and doesn't like PT Cruisers (he does have a great wife though, so props there) my brother from another mother Dennis H. to name a few.

Some of our more local malcontents, eldubb, RC, MoparWhacko, Khrysler Kid, Adam were a welcome sight as always. I can't possibly name everyone, mostly because at 3:00 in the morning I'm going to think "****, I forgot to mention that guy." and it will all end in tears.

It takes a tremendous amount of planning and work but in the end, we stand back and watch y'all laughing and joking and spinning yarns and realize it's family that matters. And you guys and gals ARE our family.

Love you all,

Pistol Pete and Ruth

Hats off to you two! As hot as it was I know I couldn't have done it. Some of those grilling recipes where out of site! I can still taste the ribs, shrimp and wings! Can't wait for next year.

Very cool. Love the color.

Just went through the pictures Casey took. Not many, and most of them are of the non-Mopars.

The club came in 3rd this year.View attachment 1884275
Well, now we know why we will have a hard time getting beyond 3rd place. The tent is ONLY determined by the number of people that show a car and register it as FBBO. The PA Modern Mopar group probably has tons of people who simply register their near or daily drivers to park on site. I'm not knocking the newer Mopars or what this group is doing, but it is much harder to get as many 50 year old cars!

Wow Pistol, I don't think I can say it any better than this. If I find some salt shakers in my stuff, we'll meet at a neutral location and exchange hostages.

Every year, this event kicks my butt, and I come home exhausted, sun burned, poor and and perhaps a bit hung over. :drinks: But as Pistol Pete said, it is so great to meet and chat with folks. There are "the usuals" that we see most every year, but then there are people we meet for the first time every year. The vast majority of car people are really good people, and it is my pleasure to interact with all of you. I apologize if sometimes I'm a bit distracted, but I usually have 5 things going on at once and my ol' brain can only handle so much!

This year we had many more folks help and contribute. My sincere thanks to all that did, because it makes a big difference. Maybe one of these years I will have time to bring my car too!

I hope Carlisle 2025 was a great event for all of you, and it is also my sincere hope that the tent helped make the experience just a little bit better. :usflag:
