Bought a 70

nothing glamerous; but I drilled and filled 200 holes today...... quite the workout

knocked down the trunk welds too, they didn't need much, but there is 150 of them :mad:

when the paint dries, these quarters can go on for the last time :bananaweed:........ maybe before I leave for Carlisle, but I have a lot going on :mad:

Suddenly more orange than black, I like it! At least you don't have to make another hat this year.

I forgot I had to build a flange on each side at the roof connection....... by the time you drill welds and chop out little piles of factory mig, you're left with swiss cheese; so I learned to cut to the chase, literally....... chop it off and build new......... also had to put that post back where I found it

these quarters are not coming off anymore :bananaweed:

Interesting to see your quarter panel to roof fabrication. When I had Baby Blue painted in 1985, stripping to bare metal revealed a similar process, which had been performed in the 70s. I know it works, because it was still sound over 40 years later.

the screws will become plug welds, and I will fill the center gap solid......
