And a full floating axle is even WAY better with two much larger tapered rollers on each wheel!
We should all be running 1 ton axles for safety.

Mine went well over 300 miles......at the drag strip......and they were still good when I sold the car.Extolling the virtues of Green bearings seems to be the equivalent of . . . . . .

I did something like 30,000 miles on mine over the course of 21 years.....but hey, what do I know?

I noticed that later model 3/4 ton pickups have semi floating axles while the diesels have full floaters. My older (late 70's) 3/4 tons all had full floaters in them. Not sure but think Fords started using semi floating on their lighter duty 3/4 ton trucks some time back. And a full floating axle is even WAY better with two much larger tapered rollers on each wheel!

Mentioned earlier, life is full of regrets. An ever-optimistic friend said you can view it more ways than one, similar to making mistakes. If you haven’t made any it could mean you haven’t done or accomplished anything. I found it food for thought, though his optimism has irritated me at times, lol.So here is food for thought I have a willwood rear disc brake kit on car ,
Now I remember why I went to Greens .
I believe it was required to run the disc brake kit with park brake inside the hat.
Uggh!
My memory is coming back , also had to return the Moser axles with screw in lugs for press fitt studs because I wanted to run fancy brakes ......
Never again!
Lots of cars came with ball bearings in their rears and did fine....until more people started driving them hard...such as hard cornering. Then along came the needle roller bearings which were better but not what I like. Tapered rollers are probably the strongest but do drag a bit more power than ball or the needle roller bearings.Tapered if you want serious brutal reliability. Green bearings are tinker toys
