Hello B-Body Guys-

Since the rebuild (crane purple cam, edelbrock intake manifold, edelbrock 600 performer) of my 318 it runs noticeably hotter than previous. It used to sit with the needle over the A in ' TEMPERATURE' and since has been running over the U or R. On the hottest days it reached the top of the 'normal' range on the temp gauge. I bought a fan shroud for it only to find out I have a C- body radiator the shroud for B-Bodies won't fit on. So- If it's never overheated so far am I overthinking this? If I put the C body shroud it would be a 26" opening and I have a 22" fan. Would the size difference nullify any cooling improvements? Appreciate any input!!

I think you need the 22” shroud it will be a direct bolt in and should work better. There are others with far more knowledge than I have.

Sounds very familiar to me. I put a 26" unit in my car to replace the abortion the PO put it. The radiator I bought was an oe style, brass/copper, replacement unit. Showed to fit both b and c bodies. Picked up a reproduction shroud for a 26" b body. Didn't fit. Turns out I need the c body unit as thats what the radiator is set up for. Made the b one work for now but a c unit will replace it down the road. And I did cut the rh baffle on the core support to widen out the opening.
