Oil pressure gauge sending units have such a varied price range. Is this a true example of ‘get what you pay for’. Or is manufacturer more important for accurate readout? NOS could be fine but not critical. Thanks! :thankyou:
 
Pressure and ohm test before install. Just like a fuel gauge, 74 ohms is zero and 10 is full gauge.

First one I installed was a dud.
 
I'm not sure I'd trust a Standard brand oil pressure sender after my experience with their craptastic water temp sensors...

Most Standard parts are somewhat better quality than other brands out there. I'm working for a parts house that sells them everyday. I've only seen a few defects come back over the five plus years I've worked there. I've also bought several for my own use over the years. They do offer an economy part, part number will end with the letter "T".
 
Thanks. Found PS59T. The other brand I found is Wells but cost is about 4x. That’s why I wondered if you get what you pay for with these switches.
In that case, I’d go with Wells. And cross fingers, you just never know.
