Why can't you run both the external oil pickup and the internal oil pickup. Instructions say plug the pickup hole inside. I know you'll suck air if you don't block it. If you leave a pickup internal pickup it would suck oil like a dual line system, correct? The lack of room I think could be solved. Is this possible, rather than buy a dual line system.
I think you'd just have 2 forms of oil pick up
& with both sucking,
neither one of them would have enough volume or pressure
taking away from each other, I'd think a single pump vein isn't big enough
to supply them both
now if you could somehow double it,
one feeding each, maybe
(like a 2 stage pump & sump, sort of like stages in a dry sump)
but still you don't need that much oil volume,
it would need to be restricted
or it'd just drain the pan, in no time flat
unless it was like 12qts, even then it still might
& you'd have to restrict what's going up top, to the valvetrain
or have a mess & too much oil all over the in the valve springs,
be hard to retain, probably leak like a mo-fo at the VCs too
or all that oil 'is falling back down' (through the valley) & creating windage
hitting the spinning crank...
if you need that much oil, go to a dry sump
