Sorry to see that. I Had that happen to me many years ago in my 64 Dodge going to the track and only chipped it.. My truck on the other hand had one like that come out from between the 2 rear tires on a dump truck going 65… I actually ducked!! Got his plate and turned it into insurance and they did nothing cause so many people were lying picking random trucks to pay for their damaged windshields… My insurance paid for it and it cost me nothing..
I had one rock form a logging truck, when they still did logging here
going down to the mill, I was going up the hill
a rock to the right in front of, sort of towards the edge of my windshield
seemed like right at my face when it happened, shocked the living crap out of me,
I think I swerved, crazy reaction to it...
I was in my 1999 Dakota SLT 4x4, it was just a slight nick/crack,
I didn't want it to spread...
I called
Safelite Autoglass, they a cool guy, tpotal car guy came out
& repaired it no cost to me, stayed for a while BS'd about my RR etc.
& not even any charge (by either them or my AAA Ins.), std procedure
not even for/from my deductible/comprehensive insurance...
Gave them my AAA Ins. info, I never saw anything after, no bill no nothing...
Like 30 min.s at most, like 15 years ago, repair still looks great...
