Been out shopping for favorites today. The Old Ezra 7 Rye isn't available in the state any more. I found 3 and bought them all. The Remus is an exceptional store pick that I am running dangerously low on. Score! I would rate them a 8+ on a 1-10 scale

I just posted this pic in another thread. It's a fresh bottle kill. Damn it was a good one. It was a barrel pick from a favorite store.
If local stores to you have store picks, or barrel picks, don't pass them up. Most stores give samples. Just a sip in a small shot glass but take your time with it and walk around the store as you are nosing and sipping. See how it changes and if it's in your wheel house or not. Picks may be a few dollars more than a shelf bottle but often times they are better, bolder flavored, more complex, smoother, and higher proof. What's not to like there. Oh, good thing I have a couple extra bottles of this one. Yes, it's that good.

Buddy Ted that lives down the street is my partner in crime. Well, we are both into bourbon's and ryes, are both retired and we like to sample and compare. Late yesterday I get a text for an invite. Of course. I walked in and saw this and I knew we would be up to no good. A half oz. pours and we got through this line up and sipped a couple more. Cheers! Oh, it is a lot of fun to compare similar bottles.

Super cheap beer night just because I feel like it. 11.99 12 pack.
I will remember this one next time I go fishing. Not bad for Cheap Beer.
