Loaded up the the truck and headed for Timigami! Hills that is, highest ground in Ontario... 8 acres of grass cut in 2.5 hours, a quick shop up town and then back to camp.

I finally got back up to the Oshkosh airventure for the first time since 2019. I went there yearly with my dad for around 25 years starting in the mid 80s until he passed in 2013, and have only gone 4 or 5 years since then.
A number of the military planes I saw it was probably the last time I’ll see except in a museum. The A10 is retiring, as is the AV8 Harrier. And the U2 is said to be wrapping up it’s service maybe in 26.
Here’s my pictures

Thanks for all your great Oshkosh pictures, Brad! I especially.like the Beech Staggerwing. I think it is one of the most beautiful of the private airplanes produced in the '30's. Another favourite warplane of mine is the Corsair. Thanks for including them in your pictures.

Great pics, Brad - thanks! I've only been to the Fly-in once. I need to go back one of these years. In the summer of '84, I saw a Concorde coming in for a landing for it while I was driving by on Hwy 41. It was impressive! We see a lot of planes fly over our house on their way to and from the event every year.

That might have been the same year I went for the first time. I remember seeing the Concorde the first time I went to that show, though it was at Oshkosh several times over the years before retiring.
Technically that time wasn’t the first time for EAA for me. As a small child my dad took me to Rockford where the EAA had their show until moving it to WI. Might have been 69 or 70. I have no memory of that, but saw slides he took. Looked more like a local fly in then.
I chatted with a ground crew airman with the U2 and told him about my seeing the SR71 fly into Oshkosh in 1990 and he was envious I saw it fly, as that was well before his time. Made me realize I’m getting old. And I think my memory was off though, pretty sure it was 1989 I saw the SR71 fly at Oshkosh not 90.
Looking at my pictures from then, it was the same SR71 that is now on display at the Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio.
Amazing thinking of all the incredible aircraft I’ve seen at Oshkosh in approximately 30 trips to the show.
