65 coronet sway bar

Hello, my brother has a 65 coronet that is in need of a sway bar. It didn’t have one from the factory. He got one from a 66 satellite thinking it would fit since there both b bodies from a similar era. It doesn’t seem to line up that well but I was wondering if they do in fact interchange and we’re just doing something wrong or if we have the wrong sway bar. Thanks

I think 65 and earlier originals were supported off the strut bars. Any pix of what you are trying??

Early '66 were like '64-'65, in that they hung from links on front of crossmember, and outer ends clamped to the strut rods. Later '66's were like later B-bodies that attached to the crossmember, and outer ends attached to LCA tabs with links.

We must have the early 66 because it does mount to the strut rods like you mentioned. I’ll get pics tomorrow.

I installed an aftermarket anti sway bar in my 65 Coronet. It came with brackets that attached to the lower shock bolts, but the OEM bolts were a little short. It did make a world of difference though.

What kit did you use? We may just sell the oem one and go with an aftermarket unit like you did.

Addco #541. The instructions are kind of funky but, it fit well.
