B Bodies & 340’s

An interesting drag race can be a 340 A-body against a 383 Magnum B-body.

Should run good with those modifications.

Now do all the same mods and upgrades to a 440 and line them up. With slicks ar the track so we have a time slip. Now who wins?
I don't drag race this car, just a fun car to drive, and I prefer racing ( only a couple of 100 feet) non mopars just to remind people how they performed back in the day.
If I put this combination into an A body, it would have alot more top end.

That's a man on a mission to have a small block that hangs with and possibly beats most street big blocks.

Not what you're asking but I believe the 360 with it's longer stroke works quite a bit better in a B-body from what I've witnessed. I've seen a few that truly impressed me and they were low buck builds.

After living with BB on my 74 Charger since ever, I don’t think could live with a SB under the hood, no matter if 340 LOL. Even with the same power side to side.

Sure would love to have a 70 Swinger 340. My fav A body ever. 69 fastback ‘Cuda 340 could be my next A body to choose. Those born to get SBs
