So 2018 i got a vinal top done at a shop and they did a shitty job the seams on the roof were crooked and the glue was coming off. A lot of talk after that and they promised to fix it but I never heard back from them.

2022 i found a shop that seemed promising, i let them do the job and the result was wonderful, the seams were straight and i was overjoyed to finally find someone who could do a good job as they promised.

In 2023 that bubble burst for me when I saw that it was starting come off here and there.

I contacted them about this but at the same time I had problems with the brakes which also caused my EFI to malfunction because the valve in the brake booster had gone bad.
This lead to some mental health issues, anxiety and depression so i couldn't deal with it. now i'm better and trying to deal with it again but don't know which is best. new vinyl roof or paint the roof.
The idea was to see if it would have been better to paint the roof black, i think it looks stupid to have the whole car orange even though you still have the moldings.

I love the "two tone" look but i dont know what it would look like pinted, the grill is painted black with a flat clear that looks good.

I feel that paint will give me less problem in the future.

What do y'all think?

What do you mean "leaks". As in water. Was there a rust issue with the roof? There are holes for the charger emblem and rear trim. You could try sealing those if water is getting in the trunk.

Damn google translate haha, i meant that the glue isnt doing the job it is meant to do so the vinal top is coming off. Im Swedish and im having trouble to finding the right word here and there sorry.

I know what you are going through. Finding someone to do a Vinyl top now a day's is very hard. It's a dying art. Even over here. I went through the same thing on my Challenger. If it was me I would probably get it re-done or do it myself. There's certain cars that look right with them and yours is one of them. Keep the Faith.

My experience is that the shops often don't use the correct glue, or not enough or ignore cure times. I had my most recent top put on by a marine upholstry shop. They put reference tape on the front and back glass to align the seams. I did the trim when I got the car home.

It just so happens I ran across this video yesterday. Some skill and (probably) lots of patience required. I'll do my car if I can get a car buddy in Savannah to help me out...it looks like a 2 man job to me.

It is not too difficult, especially if your trim has been off recently. Get it centered on the car, and glue one side at a time using the proper Weldwood Landau top adhesive. Your car looks great with a vinyl top.

I need to do mine but to be honest I would be scared to cut it.

I have not personally used one but have seen a legendary interiors full top on a 71 and it looks as good as my custom one.
