Already is, with all the stuff I’ve had to buy so far and still came with about 6-10 grand worth of NOS parts.Somehow my gut told me it was going to be a jillion dollar car.

It seems obvious to me that it's a 2dr hdtp, but maybe some out there don't know the difference.Yep all it needs to show is body style, the most obvious thing that most can read and understand. 66 tags are vastly different than 68 and up tags.
I have a 4 door but that shows a different body style.

( .. if someone can't tell what it is, the tag won't remedy that..)
Thanks, I bought it, RH23. Never thought to check e-bayThey show up on ebay and this one is cheap:

I’ll keep you in mind. if I get a duplicate one made I want it to be metal and correct for car, only option is the engine. If you know how the code layout is supposed to be, I can reproduce them with your VIN to match the car. The font is a little bit off, they are made of high grade plastic and are thicker than originals, so they can't be construed as fraudulent, just a novelty reproduction to fill the spot. I was primarily focused on the 69-74 tags, but I've done enough pre-68 tags now to feel confident - I know several members on this forum have them, including a white Superbird that was at Carlisle this year.

The IBM card I have shows all the options on car, it tells where and when it was built, what dealer it came to. Paint, interior, engine, trans and rear. IF the tag makers can’t give me the correct one I won’t buy it. 66 is a lot different than the newer ones that I’ve seen.Given that not all options are coded on a tag and given coding changes plant to plant, year to year and even within the model year, it is far harder to get an accurate tag than people, and tag makers, believe. It is likely you will be paying for letters and numbers stamped in a piece of metal that resembles a fender tag rather than an accurate replacement.
If you know that going in and are OK with that...cool.
FWIW...if all you wanted is a place holder, I'd have given you a tag for the cost of shipping.
