YesIs the SO number not on the core support?
That should match the fender tag, right?
Stamp on core support is awfully long ending in- 2509046
The rear body code is on the rear crossmember, usually between the two bumper brackets. If it is rusty in that area you might not be able to see it. If you can't find it, then the rad support is all you have. If it looks factory original then I would have to say, VIN swap.
My 67 Satellite that I'm currently restoring, the SO# is on the core support and the rear cross member just to the left of the left rear bumper bracket. They should match the order # on the IBM card.
I will get out to the garage tomorrow and lookI understand on a 66 they may even be on the rear cross member under the rear bumper reinforcement mounts.
Hi YY1Is the SO number not on the core support?
That should match the fender tag, right?
Thank you. That's a huge HELP!That's typical for 66 and 67.

I bought the car from Georgia.Lose the build card, the vin screws, rivet it on correctly and go back to being happy with what you purchased.
Thanks, but Page of 1966 Coronet FSM disagrees with you.Not that it matters, but the VIN code D is a 273.

Thanks. I've owned the car since January and have been misinformed on VIN engine code the entire time. BTW Chiltons 1964-1971 is also misinformed.

My 1966 Coronet: Rear Body Stamp is covered in rust proofing. Any suggestions on best way to remove the rust proofing while preserving the body stamp beneath?
Your picture: looking at vertical circular flange with center hole behind vertical flange that is beside body stamp area.

Possible problem: if body stamp is too far left, bumper and bracket may have to be removed to see body stamp
