2025 15th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - I Can't Wait!!!

I was thinking the same thing. If it's Mopar they need to be working on it now so they can be competitive for next year. We'll know if it is when they start making rule changes to make sure it isn't competitive.

Elite motorsports announced today that they are buying Josh Harts top fuel team at the end of the year. No information on driver for next year.

Here we go for Maple Grove. Going to this race too. Supposed to be beautiful weather all weekend.

FC Prock
PS Anderson

Elite motorsports announced today that they are buying Josh Harts top fuel team at the end of the year. No information on driver for next year.

Also, they've aligned with TSR, Tony Stewart (specifically)
I read about that new partnership, in Dragzine.com Newsletter
the biggest owned team in NHRA now
bunch of classes
Now, T/F, F/C, Pro/Stock & Mountain Motor/PS, Pro/Mod
& several Comp Elim. or sportsman teams/cars
(no bikes)

used to be NHRA rules stated
no more than 4 cars/vehicles of any 1 class, in/under any 1 owner/team, period

I'm not a fan of Elite Motorsports, org. owner "Dick' Freeman or Miss Piggy
(liars cheaters, team BS)
maybe with TSR, it may get a lil' redemption (from me)

I can't stand Erica "miss piggy" Enders/Stephens 'at all'
most the rest of the team isn't the problem (for me)

Sounds like this might be Tony's ride for next year. Here's what it says about the deal:

Elite Motorsports and Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) have announced that they are forming a sales, marketing and hospitality alliance in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) with a focus on the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series.

“Our partnership with Elite Motorsports and Richard Freeman and his group is unique,” said TSR team owner Tony Stewart. “It’s taking all of our assets that we have with TSR and Elite Motorsports with the Pro Stock, Mountain Motor Pro Stock, Competition Eliminator, and Pro Mod teams and creating a situation where we have a lot to offer partners and potential partners down the road. We will be pooling our assets together and working together to try to fund these race cars. This is a unique strategy that Richard came up with, but I really buy into the concept of it and I think it’s already beneficial in the short amount of time that we’ve already started working together. We see the benefits of this and it can continue to make both of our organizations bigger and stronger down the road. I’m excited to work with Richard and his group. Richard and I have a great friendship and I think that’s what great partnerships start out as. He has a great organization with great people and I feel like putting our two teams with our great people together is just going to make for a very strong alliance and a partnership that will be beneficial to both organizations.”

It was announced yesterday that Elite Motorsports purchased Josh Hart’s Top Fuel program. Through this alliance, Elite Motorsports and TSR are actively pursuing sponsorships and partners for the Top Fuel operation. They will be looking for the right people and team to run the program once it is fully funded. No driver has been announced at this time.

Sounds like Leah is coming back, wants to go T/F racing in 2026

I wonder what class Tony will choose, he was all amped up about Pro-stock
after doing some seat time in a Elite 'rental/lease program car' P/Ser

I'm not a fan (as you probably can tell) of these conglomerates
or huge team BS

Tony doesn't need 'Dick' ("Richard Came Up With")
he could do it on his own, & with MoPar/Direct Connection too
just hire the right people, & consultants even
not have to deal with any of the negative (Team BS) history

Here's some unexpected news from John Force racing. Brittany is retiring at the end of the year so they can start a family. No more Force's in drag racing!!!

dang she's 39 already

good luck to Brittany,
I hope she has a lots of lovely cute babies
John will 'spoil them rotten' too

I wonder if any of the (John's) grandchildren will step in, in the future
(Ashley's are the oldest now, Noha (spell), I think is the oldest grandkid, IIRC
her & Daniel Hood's son, of his (Jack Beckman's now) F/C crew-chief
)
I can't see JFR ending, anytime soon, been involved way too long
I hope, not to lose an ICON of the sport, even as just a team owner

thanks for sharing

Congratulations to 'MomsDuster' (FABO) for winning the 2025 NHRA Reading Nationals Top Qualifier title with almost perfct total of 31.0 bonus points. He correctly picked the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #3 qualifier in Pro Stock.
'64BEL' (FBBO) was right behind with 29.5 bonus points.

More great picks!

We have 17 players this week and 13 different driver combos made up of:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 if all four drivers survive.
* 4 different Funny Car drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. The is a possibility of one head-to head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers survive.
* 3 different Pro Stock drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. The earliest possibility of a head-to-head matchup is in the semi-Final round if both drivers survive.

* 3 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers. The earliest possibility of a head-to-head matchup is in the semi-Final round of eliminations if both riders survive until then.

Good luck all!

That was a long day at the track, what with some oil downs, and the big crash it went to past 5:30 to complete the pro classes. They still had to finish all the comp classes after that.
When they talked to TS after the big wreck he had no idea of what happened and why he wasn't where he normally was after a run. I was thinking why isn't he on his way to a hospital to get checked out since he didn't know what happened or where he was.
Wonder if they showed Hagan's interview after his engine grenaded and the body folded up. He was ready to kill somebody over the tether rule on the body.
Then Anderson does a double burn out over the start line and gets DQ'd. Said he didn't realize he went over the line on the first one. When asked if the crew didn't tell him on the radio he says " I don't have a radio ". Wonder if that will change.
Our lone Mopar boy ran OK but he's a tenth slow compared to all the top cars.
The new color scheme for Cruz is pretty cool. Looks good in the sun. Best his car has looked in a while I think.

No, they didn't broadcast any comments from Hagan on TV

Anderson said he's never wanted a radio.
I agree, Cruz's FC is looking sharp.

Boy he went off, made the comment that NHRA has people making rules that have never driven a race car before and someone's going to get killed.
He'll probably get called on the carpet for his comment, but I bet they wait until he cools off some.

I thought the same thig about TS when they interviewed him - why isn't he on his way to the hospital after getting knocked out?

That was a strange and crazy day of racing yesterday!
Somehow 'ocdart' (FABO) came out on top of our "Pick 'Em" game for the Reading NHRA Nationals with a total of 114.0 points. He picked the class winner in Pro Stock, his Pro Stock Motorcycle pick lost in the semi-final round of eliminations, and both his Top Fuel and Funny car picks lost in the second round of eliminations. He was also helped with ET bonus points in Pro Stock and speed bonus points in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'TT5.9mag' (FABO) grabbed the runner-up spot with 107.0 points.
'alsant' was the top FBBO player with 101.5 points.
Way to go!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Clay Millican, 3.704 during qualifying
Speed - Brittany Force, 337.41 during Round 1 of eliminations

Funny Car
E.T. - Spencer Hyde, 3.868 during qualifying
Speed - J.R. Todd, 334.24 during qualifying

Pro Stock

Speed - Aaron Stanfield, 211.59 during qualifying

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Matt Smith, 6.741 during Round 1 of eliminations
