Good Morning All! I am adding a set of oil/ Temp Gauges in my 67 GTX. Can anyone tell or show me where to attach the red, orange and black wires that are coming out of the back of both gauges? I am not electrically inclined but can tackle anything.

Red and black should be power and ground. Orange is probably signal wire. Was there not another wire for lighting? Google the gauge manufacturer, and you should find some instructions. Does the car currently have factory stock oil and temperature gauges or idiot lights?

yes, has factory oil and temp, but I just restored the entire car in and out and spent a ton of money doing so. I want to be sure that I can read the correct temp at least. I kept the original 4 blade fan as well as entire engine factory 440. They had a tendency to run hot from the start. I am also putting g on an old school tach that I have. This will be a driver. I want to enjoy the car.

I was asking about factory gauges because you will need different sending units for your after market gauges. You more than likely won’t be able to hook both your factory gauge and aftermarket gauge to the same sending unit. I just went through this rodeo with my 74 RR and the oil sending unit. I have two water temperature sending units but only one oil pressure sending unit. The signals are different for factory gauges.

Did you buy the gauges new? All of them I’ve bought, most recently AutoMeter, have good wiring instructions with them. If they are used gauges try going to the manufacturers website to see if installation guides are there.
