As I continue to look to make our '67 Belvedere a little more reliable and give it a touch more grunt I am planning to replace the stock 2 barrel carb and intake on the 318.
I am going with an Edelbrock - 1406 carb on a Performer Intake Manifold - 2176 based on the huge number of comments on this being a great combination for a weekend driver. I know I need gaskets for the carb and manifold but is there a preferred brand or are the Edelbrock gaskets as good as any? Should I also grab intake bolts? Studs for the carb mounting? What is a good air cleaner? Is there anything else I should be grabbing to do this? I am not wanting to get started on it and need to stop for stuff I could easily have had on hand ahead of time.
Thanks!
