Putting together a 68 Charger, currently installing new door panels, hardware, etc. rear interior qrtr panels went in nice including the crank handles….. but, the front door crank handles when pushed all the way on, leave a 1/2” gap between the door panel and the escutcheon! Car when bought came with many new parts, including all the above. Is this car supposed to have all 4 handles being the same? Or are fronts different? IMG_7599.jpegIMG_7600.jpegIMG_7601.jpeg

Door glass regulators are obviously bolted in wrong.. how I have no idea.
You mean bolted in too close to the inside skin?
The window works perfectly….. this is mind boggling

Looks like the opposite of the normal question.. can I use a 68 charger regulator in a 67?

The 67s are longer for a fat door panel.

Jeeeeez….. seller only removed everything for a paint job and replaced parts back in again…I suppose he could’ve used a 67…

That sucks, you can pull the regulator out and look for a number.

How about a picture with the window crank off so we can see how far out it extends?

I wonder if the regulater could be “shimmed” deeper into the door in order for the handle stem not to stick out so far?

If you're going to attempt some funny business, maybe shim behind the hole to make the panel stick out instead.

Read it…. Doesn’t really have a 68 scenario, unless a 68 front stem is also longer than the rears?
In which case, i assume with original door panel there was no gap?
I'm trying to help, but running out of steam

Read post #2 in the thread link.
It's not a 68 scenario.. it's a 66 67 charger regulators have longer posts , scenario.
AND THEREFORE 68s have have shorter posts.
The one in your car appears to be too long. Wonder if it's roughly 9/16s.

Park any attempt of a connection to the rears , in the back of your mind. We see no problem there.

Perhaps a cut and reweld on that spindle. Probably complete disassembly of regulator will be required. If, in fact it is a 67 model.
Mike

I HAVE seen thicker ( black plastic) spacers on some mopar models. I don’t remember which though. You might want to look into that?

FIXED!!!!
Nothing a piece of copper heating pipe insulation won’t cure!!!
Thanks for everyones help!!!
