I seem to remember in the early 80's, that it was popular for any pontiac aficionado to put those "trans am" exhaust tips on any pontiac.

Heck, I think it was fairly popular to put them on any brand of car.
Definitely popular to put those tips on Pontiacs - not sure Ive ever seen them on any others, but hey...living in the middle of nowhere I may miss out on a lot of fashion... :) I had them on a 72 GTO I owned for a short while many moons ago; I think theyre neat. BUT... to the best of my knowledge, only factory available on GTO/midsize cars in 64/65. TransAms got them starting in the late 70s as I remember.

imagine driving this...

back in the day I attempted to drive a Mack Maxidyne in Diesel tech....
Buddy of mine has one aka suicide shift in a B model with a Cummins and a Holmes 850... That truck is a monster of a truck... It sold me on old Mack’s abilities.. top loaders on camelback ..

My first car. 72 SSP. 400-4, AT, AM/FM, Pro stock hood, rally dash, tuff wheel, etc. Bought with enlistment bonus money. Drove the car from GA to Seattle, and then shipped up to AK. Not fond of the 2 tone green/silver these days, but would love to have the car back. This is in Ft. Richardson, AK. I was 2nd owner, bought at Jump School, Ft. Benning. 1975, so still like a new car. Original owner put on the hand painted Snoopy's. Beats me why. But this car launched me into an addiction for these ridiculous Mopar cars!

The other pics are mid 80's when cars were still affordable. At one point in time, borrowing neighbors car ports, garage etc., I had the 2 R/T's, Coronet 440, totally loaded 72 Charger Broughm 400 car, and a Shaker hood 71 Chall R/T 340 car. All were original paint cars except for the 69. With a growing family, most of them had to go over a couple of years. The cars...

Been trying to buy the 69 back for a few decades. Build date is my birthday! The beautiful low mile plain jane Coronet (30K miles) was desecrated into a telephone pole a week after I sold it. Crying shame. Not sure where the 70 R/T ended up. Charger was also a 1 owner car prior to me. A tiny little school teacher gal. Had about 35K miles. Ended up in Canada with a Hemi stuffed into it. The 71 Chall I bought from original owner and owned it a 2nd time before selling a few years ago to a collector on the east coast, who won't sell it back to me! He kind of took me on it, but that's my fault. Bla bla bla.
