Does anyone here have or knows someone that has a Mosher created '64-'65 Super Stock with the universal FIT SYSTEMS #1705 mirrors mounted on the drivers side doors? I need to know how they were mounted since I have aluminum doors. It would be great to have pictures to go by. Anyone?

I would want a backing plate with tapped threads or at the very least, thread nuts fastened into the door skin.

You have to drill two holes and countersink on the mirror, and same hole pattern on the door itself (I just made a little template). Tape up the chrome so it doesnt chip. No need for backing plate or rivet nuts, just a little of your favorite silicone sealnt before you tighten the scres to keep the water oiut of the door itself.

First two pics are one that cracked on me after 15 years. Second set of pics is replacement I put on in 2020 and still going strong. just sheetmetal screws and holes drilled right into the door. I have three Moshers like this.

So just to be clear, two holes and countersunk on the small chrome mirror base plate and then that gets screwed to the door's window frame.
I totally understand now. I was hoping that I didn't have to drill any holes on such a rare door.

Gotcha. Thank you so much. You're the first Gent that I know through the waves that actually has the Mosher cars.

JP. Thank you much.
These pictures are the best that I have seen in the few years that I have been investigating this matter. Now I know the playing field. I can always weld and repair two small holes on the frame. Thank you once again. Mosher cars rock. I only wish I would've had a chance to go out West to visit that nest of Super Stock tributes.

You're right about that aluminum door being a different animal. Plus mine are all clones so really no harm no foul. Now my actual Wedge car has no side view form the factory and I dont think I will be adding one.

When I posted earlier in this thread, I did not know what the mirror looked like, I just assumed it was similar to the twin post unit.

Yeah, I can see the confusion. At this point quite frankly, it's two holes either on the top swooped continental shelf panel where the regular twin post mirror would normally go or the window frame itself like on JP's cars.
I was led to believe by others that the Fit System mirror was a non intrusive mount that could be removed and leave no trace. Uptown problems for a downtown Bowery boy I guess.

I can't wait to see that Red Max at the show in a week or so. Trying to lure my Max Wedge expert friend "Special K" to attend, but I doubt it that he will make it.

Your Black Beauty will be there right? Would love to see it with a set of those Mosher Fenderwells!
