The Elephant In The Room: unloading the load from a B-body.

The car can be a weather vane by only coming out in fair weather as far as the wipers are concerned. Lots of cars are out there in the wild including this one with a roll bar. Roll cages are a whole other animal and a pain with all the blind spots along with entering and egress issues.
Understood about the fair weather use - it will never be wet again now that it's painted. WV has safety inspections every two years for antique tags and I didn't want to get in a predicament where some LEO had a bad day and took it out on me and my car. Sure it's unlikely but wouldn't it suck to have all that money sunk into it and not be able to drive it?

FWIW my Duster has an inspection sticker from 2009 LOL

I had trouble seeing around the bar, had to back into the water at the local drag strip (closed now), and didn't have a helper. I put up with that for 3 or 4 T&Ts, then gave up.

The last funny part about the conversion is the guy I bought it from said he sold all the parts they took off (seats, intake, etc) in a yard sale. Akron must have been a unique place at the time.

Geezus Lord almighty.
These REAL steel stock rims with Pro-Trac L60's were no joke when it came to breaking scales. One of them alone breached the 60 Lbs limit and I would guess it to be closer to 68-70 Lbs per rim/tire. I'm now changing over to my lightweight race rims and tires for the MCACN show which are mucho, much lighter.

Here's the mucho lighter package with tubes mind you. It would be much lighter if they were tubeless. I'll weigh them again against the steelies when I get a chance.

A fresh coat of dull aluminum was just applied to the handmade wafer thin steel bumper that itself is probably lighter than an aluminum one. Note: aluminum carriage bolts.
Less than a month away before this pup sits exposed for all eyes to see it up close. The display will be minimal, but the car will speak huge volumes.

Come One, come all.
The Year of the '65, a pivotal moment in American racing circles both on the street and tracks all across the nation. From boycotts at NASCAR, Legendary racing drivers crossing brand loyalty picket lines, wheelbases blatantly shifted and street racing at its highest.

That's it guys, I'm hanging up my lightweight (V)OPAR car stripes and going lightweight truck racing.
I discovered a vintage 1976 ALL ALUMINUM GMC Truck in my neighborhood and decided on the inevitable. It has a knife and scissor sharpening shop towards the rear interior for excellent traction and the manual Call bell up front still works. What say ye?

RMCHRGR sent me this and I wanna be like this guy. GOT MILK? The milk man delivers and hope the glass milk bottles are secured in the bed of this truck.

What a show this past weekend. I'm lost for words with the machinery unearthed from their comfy grottos, sans mine.

I'll keep it short in that I was completely blown away when these two specimens made their way to the stage on Saturday during a seminar involving old school Chrysler racers and builders.

Exhibit # 1 shows two brake bar harnesses which are found underneath the dash. Both Aluminum and Magnesium counterparts in this case, but steel versions are the norm, so of course y'all know where I went with that. And here I thought I had everyone beat by a mile with my own version.
After that seminar, what I walked away with wasn't just amazed envy, but the notion that any myths or legends heard of in the past could quite possibly be true. One just has to patiently dig deep or be patient for the items to come to you.

Anyone ever hear of Titanium torsion bars? More on this coming.

I am pretty sure I saw your car during a pre-show walk through on a YouTube video. It looked great, all black and shiny (and sneaky).

And here you have it. Breaking News RMCHRGR sneaked pictures of his own to confirm that the car was indeed there. I'm not sure that I was though in mind set because it was sheer fun insanity. LOL. Though mind you, it was a HIT THE GROUND RUNNING type of weekend to say the least, but the results were stunning and enlightening.

Some folks that got an up close tour of several minute details throughout the car were blown away and left the burn out area in deep thought and without their shoes.

I probably posted this somewhere on this thread long ago, but here's my version complete with titanium hardware installed underneath. Never mind the spaghetti wiring, since it has been cleaned up or removed entirely.

Let's be nice and share the road. Small tire racing paired up with big tire. That's a real steel bumper by the way if anyone is enquiring. Weight needs to be in its rightful place and evicted in others.
