I’m very new at this. Not sure if I’m even doing this right. I have a 70 V code RR Lynch Road built. Tag is different from others. I can’t find any decoder sites. Can someone help or guide me to one. What I’m trying to figure out is the 3 groups of numbers 5 from the bottom of the tag. 123 084 672… any help would be appreciated. Thx

I know.. the tag is on the wrong way. I decoded most of it. Just the upper numbers I can’t figure out.

123 is the engine 440+6 for automatic
084 is the rear axle assembly, I don't have a decode for it handy. it will line out the ratio, sure grip or not, what size brakes on it.
672 is the trans, 440+6 727

These are the last 3 dogits of the part numbers for the assemblies.

Yes. Thx. I was able to decode the bottom rows no problem. The ones I couldn’t figure out were the top ones. 123 is the 440 6 bbl. I was told that the 084 is the super track pack Dana 60. Was just looking for certainty. The car has an 8-3/4 currently.

thanks! That’s what I was told. Being an auto and having an 8-3/4” in it now I just needed to hear that.

084 rear axle assembly code = A32 Super Performance package with D32 automatic transmission. 4:10 gears Sure Grip 9.75 Dana with 10" drum brakes. As part of the package, you got power front disc brakes as well as the 26" radiator. Super Track Pack A34 contained the four speed manual transmission. This is not a Super Track Pack car.

110 = scheduled production date (SPD) Administrative in function and generally unrelated to actual assembly date.

123 = engine assembly code
672 = last three digits of the automatic transmission part number 3410672

Any other provenance for the car like a window sticker or broadcast sheet? What's the history on the car?

Nice find.

One of about 164 cars built for sale in the US.

Definitely a cool car. I’m asking only for my education, looking at the screws holding the tag down. Are these the screws a lynch road car in 70 would have used? I have no idea, which is why I'm asking but on other cars I’ve been around the screws I recall it having were a different style phillips head. Just trying to be smarter.

Those screws look like wheel well trim mounting screws. Incorrect as @R413 said.

That’s exactly what I thought but wanted to be sure as sometimes different plants have oddities.

I’m a little puzzled. The tag has 084 which is a 4:10 Dana 60 sure grip , but you say it’s not a super track pack? Can you explain please . And I’m working on the history of the car now. I’m the fourth owner. I’m friends with the last owner and he knows the second owner, that had the car for 38 years.

The Super Track Pack included 4:10 gears and a four speed. The 4:10 gears with automatic was called Super Peformace package.
