How many quarts does a 727 pan hold for it to show full?

I still cant believe the transmission was empty. I'm going to buy a few more quarts and see what happens.

Looks like was just enough fluid in it to read dull when I bought it. I put 4 quarts in and still not getting a reading. It will go into gear now and the driveshaft and rear are turning. I’m wondering how many quarts would give me a reading of full in the fluid pan?

Today I checked the linkage and and it seems fine. I started the engine and checked the fluid in neutral. Lo and behold it’s low, really low. When I went to look at the car, it was full with new fluid, but it’s been sitting for a few years. I betcha when they put the engine in they filled the...

I did look inside and saw something like that yes. It looks like I solved that problem. Maybe it was not going in straight. I took the line out, held it straight and tightened the nut. Its not moving in and out anymore and its not leaking. :praying:

You aint kidding. I was able to solve that issue, found a leak at the proportioning valve and now I'm trying to find out why the driver side caliper is leaking. I have new bolt and crush washers, but no matter how tight I make it, the damn thing still leaks.

Yup, and they have buddy seats instead of a console. :realcrazy:

Funny you should mention that, I bought all the parts to convert it to a floor shift, I cant stand column shifts in these cars. I just need someone to weld the brackets for the console. Its a 383 with a 727.

I would have to assume its a stock shifter. Its a column shift with a 727.

Yup, the driveshaft is in. That's all good. I'm going to climb under today and check the linkage. I want to curse the prior owner, but he died of ALS two years ago and this is why I have this car.
