I have a 65 coronet w/ a 318 poly in it...pretty much stock...it has a 2 barrel stromberg Ww on it now...that's leaking...I would like to maybe go 4 barrel instead....can I get an adapter plate that will work...or do I need 4 barrel intake also...or is there just a much better 2 bbl I can throw on as is? Also it still has points...you guys definitely reccomend going with electronic ignition? Petronics or Mopar .....? Don't have a lot of $$$just looking to give the 318 a bit of a boost.....thanks

not too many people are still messing with poly head 318s. pretty sure you can get a 2 to 4 adapter, but you are really defeating the purpose. as far as i know, nobody is making aftermarket 4 barrel intakes for those and factory cast iron are pricy. im not sure if you can use any SB electronic distributor in those either. sorry im not much help. i spend a lot of time over at FABO and i have seen poly 4 barrel intakes for sale frequently. if it were mine, i would yank out that poly and drop in an LA or magnum SB or toss a 383 or 440 in it.

Try 62-65mopar.com

I think that's the site.

Gary Povlovich is the man on 318 poly`s,me myself ,I`m going to see what I do with my poly .It`s all about having the money.

The old poly head will run pretty good if you want to spend some time and money on it, parts can get expensive. Gary pavlovich on the yahoo poly list has built poly engines that pump over 400hp and 450 torque. I planned on dropping a 440 in my 66 coronet but decided to see just the poly head would do, long story short the poly is in the car and the 440 is sitting on the stand

I've owned seven 318 cars and the first 66 poly was the torquiest of all of them.

Alsant, got any more pics of your car? Is it white? What color int?

My first Mopar was a white poly 316 66 Coronet 440 with blue int and p/w and a/c.
I have never seen another with those options, and I really loved that car.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I beat a GM 350 with that car and the losing driver argued that my poly was a 440.

Google search 318 Poly Intake Manifold... There is 1 listed on www.Jalopyjournal.com forum, by a guy Powerflite from Castaic, Ca. for $425, Wieand Aluminum 4bbl manifold {kind of pricey, but what can you do ?}... It's kind of an old ad, maybe he still has it, I don't think it ever sold... There was a couple of places
Performance Automotive Warehouse PAW vintage Chrysler parts ,www.HotHemiHeads.com
& www.Eggy.com "that use to sell" some Poly-Spherical parts & old 50's-early 60's Hemi & Mopar stuff , I don't know if they still sell them now or not, maybe contact them & they could possibly steer you in the right direction... Good luck finding 1...

If I remember correctly,Chrysler had 4-bbl. manifiolds for 318's in the late 50's..Scour the junkyards-quickly.. Me and a buddy kinda went in to a junkyard one night in high school and "procured" a 4-bbl manifold for my dad's '63 Fury..Tossed it back over the fence a week later because it drank so much gas(probably at $.35 a gal.LOL)
