looking at ...440 engine 509 cam 12 to 1 compression ..street engine 93 octane or not:edgy: if race gas / octane boost I'll pass on it

Way too much Compression for Pump Fuel, even if it is 93 Octane, You would have to run Race Fuel or drop the compression ratio.

Where is the compressionlimit at 93 octane steelhead VS aluminumhead.

9:1 safe compression 93 octane premium gas $3 plus a gallon ... versus 93 octane $.35 a gallon and 10 plus : 1 in my fathers 59 dodge 4 door family car in 1967...ran like a monster weighted 2 tons . guess I'm getting old sound like MY father longing for the old days ...when it rained and the dodge wouldn't start he wished he had his 38' Old's back

I run 10:1 with stock steel heads with no problem. You can add about 1 point with aluminum heads. 10 is about max for steel heads, though.

That's waay too much compression for the street/pump gas!
and that .509 isn't a very good cam, that grind has got to be at least 40 years old!, you'd need 12:1 compression with that cam to make it work!
theres soo many better choices out there in cams.
