:iamwithstupid: I had an old 67 Camaro back halfed, ladder bar, Street/Strip car with an iron LS7 rectangle port headed 0.060" over 454 @ 468ci with forged Carillo rods {I have spun, polished & beeded stock rods near that high too, with good 7/16" ARP rod bolts}an old Crane 0.770" roller, powerglide, 5400 stall & 4.88:1 gears, 14"x32" Good Years, spun it to 7800 RPM thru the lights for 200 plus passes back in the early 80's, ran high 8's, had Top Gun N20 systems also, direct port & plate kits, the canted valve cylinder heads on the BBC's are so damn good & flow so damn well, especially when professionally ported {340cfm to upwards of 370cfm very easily even with an iron head, w/aftermarket aluminum race heads exceding 400+cfm easily, that is why so many people run BBC's, cylinder heads are everything}, when you make decent power, like 750+hp or more easily, you really need to spin them up 7000 or more RPM, to get all the useable power/flow out of them...
