Taking my driveshaft in to be shortned and balanced what's a fair price. I'm in north central Florida. Thanks

i got 4 inches cut out of mine , balanced and new u joints all done for 65.00 out the door

I'd say no more the 100 bucks. If it's not vibrating now it shouldn't need rebalancing so there's no need for that expense.

Get it rebalanced. When rewelded the welds arent going to be exactly as they were whether machine welded or by hand.

Having it done for $65.00 including shortening and balancing.

Anywhere between 65 to 100 for stl and 85 to 125 for AL, and it the shop doing it should include balancing as that is part of the job when any shaft has any welded part replaced or shortened..

Some shops will charge those prices and say balancing is additional and it is really part of the procedure.

Wow, been awhile since having one done and the last one I did myself. It was for a /6 car that got an 8 3/4 rear. Run out was good but there was some imbalance at 4800 which was about max rpm for that old 6 six anyways. Other than that, it worked fine under 4800. Yeah, I'd recommend getting it balanced....
