i got a set of doug's d452 headers for my 64 s/fury 383. they don't clear the idler or pitman arms. got any ideas to help solve this? don't want to beat headers up, they are ceramic coated.

Send them back and get a set of Hedmans for alot less. Fit them to the car first in case you need to make adjustments, then send them to be coated. Mine have been on my 64 Sport Fury for over ten years. Must be used with Dakota starter.

I'm with Furyus on the Headmans. I have them on a 64 Belvedere and I like them. From what I've seen and heard, they just fit better than the others. I like the idea of getting them in and making sure that they fit just right and then sending them out for ceramic coating. More work, but better than hammering or torching on a set that's already coated.

Simple solution. Get the right headers. The D452s are not the right ones. D451 fits your application.

thanks guys, the d452s will fit and was much easier than i thought. b and rb blocks aren't that different.

That's awesome. Because in the book, the are listed NOT to fit a 383 in those cars. Almost makes me wanna send back my D451s. Almost.
