Hello Folks,

Perhaps someone can help me. I am about to take shipment of a nicely built 440 to go into my 70 Charger but when reviewing the engine photos noticed that an Eddy 440 RPM manifold was bolted up. The dyno sheet with that combo showed great torque from 3100 to 4600 at 500 ft lbs +/- 10 and peak hp 442 at 5400 - lovely.

Long story short, does anyone know if I can make this fit under my hood? I will be running a quickfuel 780v carb so maybe a drop base air cleaner can help. I just dont want the engine shipped to me and finally no solution can be found (replace intake etc....) I would greatly appreciate a quick reply.

The only other solution would be to crank up the car via torsion bar - but that can't be it right??

Thanks in advance

i got an Eddy Victor under the hood of my 69 Roadrunner with about 1/8 inch clearance from the air filter, and im sure the victor is taller than the rpm series.

Assume this is for your new CME crate engine? When do you take delivery... eager to hear your first impressions!

I had a rpm on my 70 coronet bee clone with a 440 and it fit with a 2" drop plate.

Ps good intake

Yes good intake. Had to buy a drop down set up from the dime store. It still makes a mark on the insulation pad. 69 Coronet with a power bulge hood.

Thanks for the feedback. The problem is gen 2 Chargers have even less hood clearance that other B-bodies. I have seen a few post where people confirmed that it was finally possible using a drop base air cleaner. I am going to go ahead take delivery and sort it out ! Here are a couple of photos of the engine just after painting. Today I will check the clearance I have on the 383 with the '69 dual snorkel air cleaner mounted using play dough. Will let you know the result. Anyone need a dual snorkel air cleaner, for that matter a complete 383 with hi perf manifolds, eddy 600, pulleys. It needs a rebuild but ran

I have the same question what was the verdict? to the guys that it did fit for did the carb have a choke horn?

KnoGood,
I have a 70 Charger with the Eddy RPM manifold. Running a Holley Street Avenger with a K&N air filter, no clearance problems. HTH

Cranking torsion bars will do nothing.k frame and body are fixed together. Would only fix oil pan ground interference.
