I'm not sure I got this right but here goes. I have a '64 Dodge Polara 4dr sedan LeRoar 324 poly w/goodies. Actually less goodies now as I'm 70 and cutting back on the racing and leaning towards cruising/traveling. The body and interior are as purchased in 2001 and basically original except it was in an accident to the right front and was repainted sometime ago. It's great for the "grandpa" stealth factor:)

The drive-train now has a '70 GTX 489 rear-end w/3:90 sg gears. The driveshaft is new as I just installed a '65 727 cable shift trans to replace the ball&trunion '64 unit that I busted the tail housing off of while racing. I have re-done the suspension with the poly/graphite bushings, bigger t-bars, 11" rear drums and front manual discs. The engine is the original 318 poly but it has been re-done several times in my quest for more whoopee. It is bored .040" over with Ross custom forged alum pistons that have been ceramic and moly coated with plasma moly rings, floating pins with Eagle SIR rods and ARP hardware. I have used 3 different Schneider cams after my original stock engine. The first was a 264deg hot street gring. The second a 284deg nastier cam. And now I have gone to a basically stock but hyd grind. I had it balanced, align bored, hardened seats in heads, etc,etc.. I have some oiling mods, an aluminum radiator, a FloKool pump, Milodon HiFlow t-stat, windage tray, Mopar electronic ign, TTI headers, Summit mini-starter, Holley Blue pump and regulator, 3/8" fuel line, lot's of heat shields, a stainless flex fan and at one point handmade wooden carb spacers 1&3/8" for my dual-quads. When I was running the dual-quads I used a Weiand WPD4D with Eddy 1404's and now I temporarily have a Weiand 7503 which is running an Eddy 1406. My 7503 has been modified with bungs for fuel injectors and sensors. I intend to add EFI soon. I had a 3000 stall Frank Lupo converter for use with my 3:90 rear and dual-quads. I will be changing to 3:23 gears and I have a basically stock converter now too.

I have had the engine out 5 times in the last 2 years and have had fun playing and experimenting with it. I was drag racing at an 1/8th mile track off I-29 south of Council Bluffs called Mid-America Motorplex. It was a great time as I went from mid-12's, bone stock to just shy of the 8's. I only got in a few runs on my last set-up before I busted the driveline. It got down to a 9:15 without any tuning so I am sure i could break into the 8's. But I need to move on while I can and actually drive the car a bit. It was running 7500rpm's and was very streetable. I was compelled to push it hard though and see what it could do. Lot's of fun. Like my old days in California in '63-'64 when I was privileged to race my bone stock brand new '64 Dodge 330 2dr sedan w/ 383 & 4speed at the famous Lion's Drag Strip. Actually my 4dr being modified would've blown the doors off the 4 speed car. That was my goal and it was accomplished.

I hope I didn't bore you with my old codger's tale :) The important thing is to have fun and hopefully keep interest going in the younger folks.

Hay Rich! glad to see you sign on here. I am sure you will enjoy this site as well as the 62-65 Moparornocar list Lots of Mopar tech and whole bunch of other interesting stuff.
BTW, wifey gave me a hard time cause I didn't let you put your battery in her van. That would have saved me a lot of grief. Put the blame on me so I would have to pay the tow and repair bill. LOL...Later............................MO

More pics as requested

I don't mean to bore you but here are more pic's of various aspects of the car. My focus has been primarily on the engine as you can probably tell. Some pic's show the oiling mods where the mains are drilled, a cover is placed over the oval holes in the valley and extra holes are drilled in the filter plate. Also the wood spacers I made which dropped the carb temp from 180deg to 110deg!! One of the best mods ever! The ported heads are pictured also and the coated pistons. I have just had a blast wrenching on this car.

Rich

Rich, glad to see you are still going strong.
I don't know if you remember me from the email list, but this is Dooner. I thought I was going to have to get rid of my '64 Belvedere 4dr, but I lucked out and was able to keep it. It's been down for about 3 years now, but I am determined to have a nice cruiser by my 50th bday. Don't know if it is going to happen. I only got 2 years and a month. Not looking for a show car, so hopefully that will help me acheive my goal.
You just keep on boring us with your stories and pics. I know I love them.
ALL HAIL THE "LEROAR"!!!!!!!

Harold

I am about 45 minutes away, welcome. I also have raced out at MAM.

Got any pic's from MAM? What were you running and when? I hope MAM survives the auction. I haven't heard lately about the auction and don't remember the date right off. The Geezer Drags were my favorite. Keep having fun.
